Clara’s eyes were filled with passion, her cheeks burning hot. She immediately broke free from his embrace and said in a hoarse voice, “My brother is still here. I don’t want him to see us.”
Ian glanced at Edwin, who was watching the scene with amusement, and chuckled, “Don’t worry. He’s not wearing his glasses. He can’t see.”
Edwin, who had been feeling sorry for him just a moment ago, became furious at these words and immediately retorted, “Why don’t you just say I’m blind? Don’t forget. I’m only -2.50. Even without glasses, I can see you, you big jerk.”
Ian, with his arm around Clara’s shoulder, walked over to Edwin and cheerfully said, “Thanks for today, Edwin.”
Edwin immediately shook it off and hastily said, “Stop it. I can’t stand that flirtatious tone of yours.”
When Edwin saw the two reconcile, a smile appeared on his face.
“Since Clara is here, let’s have dinner at home. It’s her first visit to the Campbell family. It’s not easy for her to come here. I want to treat her well.”
Ian looked down at his wet clothes and said, “Then you need to find me a set of clothes to change into. I’ll catch a cold like this, and my wife will worry.”
Edwin glared at him. “Look at you showing off. Go to my bedroom upstairs and find something.”
“I have a thing about cleanliness. I don’t wear clothes others have worn. I want something new.”
“Beggars can’t be choosers. Either wear it or not. If you catch a cold, I’ll just bring Clara here, so you don’t pass it to her.”
Ian, with his arm around Clara, headed upstairs. “That won’t do. My wife can’t be away from me for even a day, right, honey?”
