"A mistake? Are you really calling that a mere mistake?"
I had gained a whole new level of understanding of how shameless the Newton family could be.
Looking at Casey kneeling in silence, I let out a cold laugh. "You two have been sneaking around for over a year, haven't you? I've got plenty of photos of you together. If you're not afraid of the humiliation, feel free to keep putting on a show here with your parents.
"If I see you again tomorrow, I'm posting everything online. Let's see how your whole family handles the scandal."
Casey's face went pale. "This has nothing to do with my parents. I was the one who fell for Andrew. You can't take it out on my family." She straightened her back, trying to look all noble and righteous.
"Oh, really? Do you think I'm being unreasonable? You cheated, yet I'm still supposed to support your entire family like nothing happened? What? Just because you're shameless enough to expect it?"
"You've made money off my family too, Jace. Don't act like you're so above it!" Casey had already stood up. She carried that same arrogant attitude, as if she had not done anything wrong—like she could still try to shift the blame onto me.
It was too bad I was no longer the gullible idiot she used to manipulate.
"Are you not embarrassed saying that out loud? It's always been your family asking mine for money. What did you ever give us?"
Every project with the Newton family was a pure loss. All they had done was take. Yet, their greed knew no bound.
I caught a glimpse of the security guards approaching and waved them over. "These people keep showing up, begging at my house. They're not even residents here. Who let them in? Get them out—unless you want me to file a complaint."
I rarely showed anyone this cold side of me, except for when it came to the Newtons. They had tried everything to latch onto my family like leeches, draining us dry. There was no way I was letting that continue.
