Bryce!
Hadn't he just left? Why was he back again?
Erik stared in surprise. "Didn't you just leave? Why are you back?"
Before he could finish, Bryce stepped into the room, cupped Erik's face with both hands, and leaned in for a kiss.
Bryce's sudden kiss made Erik stagger backward, almost losing his balance until he grabbed Bryce around the waist to steady himself.
Erik looked at Bryce, unblinking, as he kissed her with such passion. Gradually, she let her guard down and loosened her grip on Bryce.
She never expected Bryce to have this side to him.
For a moment, Erik felt like she was dreaming, closing her eyes as Bryce continued to kiss her.
Afterward, they lay motionless on the bed.
Turning to glance at Erik, her bare shoulders peeking out next to him on the pillow, Bryce said, "Babe, I'm not going home tonight."
Erik, with her back to Bryce, softly responded, "Hmm."
After all these years, he had spent countless nights here. Turning him away now would just seem silly.
Bryce, seeing Erik's agreement, half-closed his eyes and gently tousled her hair.
Feeling much less awkward about his return and quite pleased with his actions, Bryce relaxed.
Only when he heard Erik's steady breathing did he turn around. By the dim light of the bedside lamp, he gazed at her, marveling at how life could bring such unexpected moments.
Noticing Bryce's shoulder exposed outside the blanket, Erik pulled it up to cover him.
Estrella was right; Erik found it difficult to connect with others. And after finally taking a liking to a guy, he ended up being charmed away by Melinda, and they were still dating.
So, her taste in men wasn't great, but Bryce was different!
Apart from being all too familiar, he didn't have any glaring faults and was sought after by many.
He had also offered to help take back the company, so why not keep it all in the "family"?
While pondering all these thoughts, Erik soon fell asleep.

Meanwhile, at the hospital.
Jason rushed in, frantic, to find Estrella already pushed out of the emergency office by her parents, the household staff, and the doctors and nurses called by Cole.
Seeing Estrella standing outside the emergency room, surrounded by people, Jason, barely catching his breath, asked, "How's Isaac? Did he lose a lot of blood? Is it serious? Should I donate blood? Our blood types might match; I could help."
Jason's concern and his offer to donate blood made Estrella crack a smile despite her worry.
"You better hurry and check if you have panda blood," she teased. "Isaac needs at least 5000."
Estrella replied, "Mom's just scared easily."
Letting go of her chin, Jason gently stroked her face. "As long as it's nothing serious."
Estrella grabbed his hand. "Want to go in and see?"
"Sure," Jason agreed, heading into the emergency room.
Once inside, he saw Isaac quietly allowing the doctor to stitch his wound, cradled in Cole's arms.
Isaac had just managed to stop his tears, but the moment he spotted Jason walking in, his lips trembled slightly, and he pouted softly. His eyes reddened, and tears began to swirl in his eyes once again.
Seeing this, the doctor whispered, "You've got to stay still, kiddo!"
At the doctor's reminder, Isaac didn't dare to move, let alone let the tears fall. He just looked at Jason with big, watery eyes, full of pity.
Jason felt a pang in his heart when he met Isaac's gaze, and his own eyes started to water.
Such a young kid, yet so understanding, just like Estrella.
Isaac's earnest gaze fixed on Jason, making everyone in the room turn to look at Jason.
Cole was nearby, and when Autumn saw Jason, she immediately felt guilty and couldn't even bring herself to look him in the eyes.
Twenty minutes later, when the doctor finished stitching and bandaging Isaac's wound, Isaac looked up with a face full of grievance and pouted before calling out, "Daddy."
