30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 324

Estrella felt utterly deflated by her dad's scolding. Without saying a word, she simply gave a thumbs-up and conceded, "Cole, you win."

In an effort to keep her away from Jason, it seemed like Cole would stoop to any level of mudslinging.

Across from Estrella, Jason was at a loss for words.

As they say, experience comes with age, and Cole, the sly fox, had clearly done this on purpose.

Autumn, seeing the tension, tried to smooth things over. "Come on, Cole. Stop making things up. Our girl has only ever had eyes for Jason, and let's not forget, Isaac is Jason's son."

Autumn's words brought a smile to Jason's face, while Cole's expression darkened as he commanded, "Let's eat."

Isaac, sitting next to Jason, was thoroughly entertained by the back-and-forth, enjoying the drama like a true spectator.

By nine, the family of three retreated to their bedrooms. After tucking Isaac in, Jason's gaze met with a freshly bathed Estrella, who, while applying her face cream, chuckled and said, "Jason, you've really outdone yourself. You've turned my whole family against me, and now they won't even talk to me."

To Estrella, Jason's maneuver was on par with that of a master manipulator.

Estrella's sarcasm was met with a casual response from Jason, "So, it's my fault now?"

Estrella admitted her mistake, prompting Isaac to burst into laughter, nearly making Estrella cry. When their eyes met, Isaac immediately stifled his laughter, clamping his mouth shut.

In essence, he couldn't speak to Estrella today; otherwise, she would replace Jason with a new "uncle" for Isaac.

Despite being upset with Jason in the morning, Isaac was quite fond of his dad and didn't want a new one.

Estrella was fuming internally when Isaac refused to speak. Approaching the bed, she gently kicked Jason, demanding, "Make your son talk."

Jason retorted, "You haven't made your point clear. What do you expect him to say?"

Frustrated, Estrella blurted out, "Bryce, for heaven's sake, I've admitted my mistake, isn't that enough? Stop ganging up on me."

Muttering under her breath about some "bewitching drug" Jason must've used on Isaac, Estrella was met with a question from Jason about her sincerity.

Their verbal sparring was interrupted by Isaac's laughter; he found nothing more entertaining than watching people argue.

Estrella spent the entire evening intimidated by Jason's jealousy.

Finally, she slumped next to him, resting her chin on his shoulder, and said weakly, "We were just eating and talking about Holly. What harm could come from that in broad daylight?"

Jason coolly suggested, "If you can lie to me in broad daylight, who knows what you're up to when I'm not around?"

Estrella was at her wit's end with Jason.

After a long stare-off, it was Isaac's laughter that broke the tension between them.

Seeing Jason unmoved by her advances, Estrella whispered something in his ear.

Once inside, Jason was immediately captivated by the sight of Estrella in her robe. He closed the door, took her face in his hands, and kissed her passionately.

Estrella, caught off guard, slapped him and accused, "A moment ago, you were all high and mighty, rallying everyone against me, weren't you?"

Jason admitted his mistake.

After apologizing, he untied Estrella's robe, and they both tumbled onto the bed, lost in each other.

After the storm had passed, leaving the air fresh and the world around them seemingly washed anew, Jason wrapped Estrella in his arms and planted a gentle kiss on her forehead, murmuring, "Honey, even though I've forgiven you, I can't hide the fact that it bugs me you met with Korey, and even more so that you weren't upfront with me about it."

Estrella looked up into his eyes, searching for the right words, but Jason continued before she could speak, "I get that you don't have feelings for him in that way, but you can't deny Korey's cunning. How else do you think he got to where he is at such a young age?"

"And let's face it, you're not a guy. You can't fully grasp how men think. I have a better understanding of what drives a man."

He was a man, after all, and understood all too well the competitive nature ingrained in his gender.

Korey had once proposed to Estrella, and her rejection wasn't something any man could easily brush off and forget. No man could act as if such a significant event never happened, not truly.

Even Jason admitted to himself that he couldn't let go completely, which was precisely why he and Estrella had ended up together.

Estrella remained silent, her gaze fixed on him as he softly added, "Estrella, I hope that moving forward, we can be completely open and honest with each other about everything."
