"Is that so?"
The officer glanced at the bodyguards lying on the ground, his eyes flickering with surprise.
At this moment, Nelson began waving his arms in rage and shouted, "Don't listen to these bastards! These bodyguards aren't mine; they sent them to beat me up! If you don't believe me, ask the bodyguards–they'll say they work for these thugs. Speak up!"
Nelson's stupidity was downright embarrassing—even Wilhelmina felt ashamed for him.
Sure, he'd been raised in a sheltered environment and gone to elite schools abroad, but who knew his IQ could be this low?
He had offended everyone around him, including the officer, before the situation was even clarified.
Of course, the bodyguards didn't dare to say otherwise. They quickly nodded, pinning the blame on Neil.
But their lies were full of obvious contradictions—only an idiot would buy that nonsense.
Wilhelmina couldn't take it anymore. She stepped forward and said, "Officer, here's what happened. These guys are actually our bodyguards. We were just upstairs playing games. We lost, so we went over to play snooker.
"Out of nowhere, those guys started messing with us and even tried to make us kneel. As soon as we came downstairs, they chased after us and attacked. Look at my friend—he got beaten up pretty badly. Our bodyguards had just shown up when you arrived."
The officer frowned at Wilhelmina's words and couldn't help but shoot Jack a questioning look. "Why are they so determined to chase you down?"
She glanced at Jack, her eyes full of disdain, and said coldly, "It's all because of him. He wouldn't leave me alone, trying to get with me. When I turned him down, he held a grudge."
Charlotte quickly jumped in, sneering at Wilhelmina. "I believe Jack. He already has a girlfriend. Seriously, look in the mirror! You're kidding yourself."
Wilhelmina was livid. Her whole body trembled with rage, and her teeth were clenched tight.
Just then, commotion erupted from upstairs as a crowd poured into the cyber cafe. They were the gaming enthusiasts who had once hoped to take Jack as their mentor. Some of the staff from the pool hall had also joined them.
They had intended to come down to help, but Jack's skills were too impressive. Whether it was gaming, snooker, or throwing punches, he was top-tier at all of it. They had watched Jack take down six bodyguards in an instant—it left them in awe.
"Officer, this woman is lying! She tried to seduce our gaming master, and when he refused, she called these men to attack him. When he turned her down, she called her men to beat him up. Well, you can see how that worked out—our guy wiped the floor with them."
"Yeah, that's the truth! Why would our master go after her? Please—she looks like a 90-year-old granny. Just looking at her kills the mood."
