Jack nodded quietly. He noticed how hazy Bella's eyes were, making it clear that she was already quite drunk. He said, "Bella, you drank too much."

"Yes. I'm getting drunk, but not because of the wine."

She approached Jack and stared longingly up at him with her big and beautiful eyes. It was as if she wanted to carve his visage into the bottom of her heart where it would stay forevermore.

"Jack, could you call me Belle, just like how you used to do?"

It was just a small request. Jack nodded and murmured, "Belle, it's getting late. I have to go."

He realized that something was amiss with the atmosphere. If he continued to stay, he might make an irreversible mistake.

"Okay."

A gorgeous smile bloomed on Bella's face before she made another request. "Could you… Could you kiss me again? As if we're still lovers. Just this one time, okay?"

Jack was conflicted. He didn't want to betray Feena, so he said in a low voice, "No."

However, his voice sounded less determined than he expected..

"Don't worry, I'm not chasing after anything else. This kiss is just to bid a proper farewell to our past. Would you… Would you deny me this request? It really is just this one time."

Bella's expression moved Jack. On top of that, Jack had always harbored lingering feelings for her deep in his heart. Even though he knew that Feena was waiting for him in the next room, even though he knew that it wouldn't be right of him to do so, he found it hard to resist Bella's passion and forwardness. Her rosy and shiny lips were right in front of him.
