A Man Like None Other (Jared Chance) novel Chapter 6313

True Immortal Realm Level Seven. One minor realm higher than the True Immortal Realm Level Six Malachy Vane had told him.

That old fox Malachy Vane really hadn't told the truth.

Or maybe Magnus Storme's strength had risen since then.

But however it was, now that he was here, Jared wasn't backing off.

Jared's eyes narrowed a fraction.

He stood on the mountain summit and watched Magnus lead more than a dozen celestial cultivators down onto Thunderpeak.

Magnus moved with the same caution he always had. Every month, on the fifteenth, he came to Thunderpeak, and every single time he brought more than a dozen men with him to sweep the area for 100 miles around the mountain. Only after they confirmed there was no ambush did he begin cultivating.

For 5 thousand years, that routine had never changed.

"Spread out. Search!"

"Yes, my lord!"

The dozen-plus celestial cultivators scattered at once and began searching all over Thunderpeak.

It didn't take long for one of them to spot Jared.

"My lord! There's someone here!"

Magnus's brows pulled together, and he strode over.

What he saw was a young man in azure robes standing on the mountain summit, face calm, gaze clear, with a cultivation of only Top Level High Immortal Realm Level Eight.

A sword hung at his waist, with several cracks running along the blade. He looked like nothing more than an ordinary wandering cultivator.

Some of the edge left Magnus's wariness.

To him, a Top Level High Immortal Realm Level Eight wandering cultivator wasn't even worth counting as an ant.

"Who are you? How dare you trespass on Thunderpeak?" His voice rolled out like thunder, shaking the rocks on the mountain.

Jared turned around to face him.

"Jared."

Magnus narrowed his eyes.

He had heard that name before.

In the Pyre Chasm, one punch had badly wounded Cedric, one palm strike had sent the celestials' deputy flying, and one sentence had scared every celestial cultivator there into a panicked retreat. For the last two days, that name had been spreading through the entire Fifteenth Firmament.

What he hadn't expected was that this Jared would turn out to be nothing more than a Top Level High Immortal Realm Level Eight wandering cultivator.

"Jared." Magnus's voice dropped low. "I have no grudge against you, and you've got no grudge against me. Why are you blocking my path?"

Jared looked at him. His voice stayed even.

"Killing you is part of a deal."

The color shifted in Magnus's face.

"A deal? Who sent you? Malachy Vane?"

Jared gave him nothing. But he didn't deny it either.

A hard glint flashed through Magnus's eyes.

"That useless Malachy Vane didn't dare come himself, so he sent a whelp from the High Immortal Realm to die for him?"

He let out a cold laugh.

"You think you can kill me?"

He lifted his right hand, and a mass of golden lightning gathered in his palm.

The heat rolling off it was fierce. The light was so sharp it washed all of Thunderpeak bright as day.

The air around them started to warp, and the rocks across the mountain cracked apart under the pressure of that lightning.

"Since you came, you're not leaving."

Magnus struck out with his palm.

The golden lightning twisted into a Lightning Dragon and roared straight at Jared.

The dragon stretched for dozens of yards, gold from head to tail. Wherever it passed, the air tore open, rocks shattered, and even the heavenbolt hanging over Thunderpeak was swallowed into it.

Jared didn't dodge.

He raised his right hand and met it with a palm strike of his own.

Purple lightning burst from his palm and formed a purple Lightning Dragon that crashed head-on into the golden one.

Boom!

The two currents of lightning slammed together and blew out a deafening blast.

All of Thunderpeak shook. Rocks tumbled loose, and dust billowed through the air.

The shockwave ripped a huge gap through the dark clouds overhead. Sunlight poured through the opening and lit the summit in a blazing sheet.

Magnus's pupils suddenly tightened.

"You know thunder arts too?"

Jared said nothing.

He drew his hand back.

Then the lightning nascence inside him broke loose completely.

Purple lightning coiled around his body, twisting like countless violet snakes as sharp crackles ripped through the air.

His eyes turned purple, and inside those pupils, lightning seemed to flicker.

Boom!
