A Man Like None Other (Jared Chance) novel Chapter 6348

Gwendolyn stood at the highest point of the city walls, ice-blue divine radiance flowing across her palm.

Behind her stood the Frosthall's 137 disciples. In every pair of eyes, the flame was burning.

They had only awakened the bloodline not long ago, and their cultivation still hadn't stabilized. Even so, not one of them stepped back.

Gideon stood in the doorway of the Council Hall, staring at the five upper-realm celestial warriors in the distance. A cold glint cut through his eyes.

A longsword was clenched in his hand, and a glaring silver light ran along the blade.

Behind him stood those dozens of human cultivators who had escaped from the Sixteenth Firmament. Every one of them was above the fifth tier of the True Immortal Realm.

Their wounds still hadn't closed. Bandages were still wrapped around their bodies, but their eyes shone hard and bright.

"The Sixteenth Firmament... the Celestial Alliance's lapdogs." Gideon's voice was quiet, but every word came out like it had been forced through clenched teeth.

He tightened his grip on the longsword, then turned to the dozens of human cultivators behind him.

"Brothers, are you ready?"

"Ready!" the dozens of men shouted back in one voice, even and unshaken.

The Tribunal Venerable stood in the void and looked down at Cloudrest. His voice rolled out like thunder.

"Jared! Hand over Jared! Do that, and I can spare every one of your lives!"

No one answered from the city walls.

Windclear gripped the broken sword and stared at him with a chill stillness. Hadrian clamped down on his war axe, his eyes packed with killing intent.

The wraithblade turned lightly in Lydia's hand, black light sliding over the blade.

Malachy's black, chaotic demonic aura rolled around him like a sleeping Shadow Dragon.

The Tribunal Venerable's face darkened.

"Won't hand him over? Then die."

He raised a hand, and golden holy radiance gathered in his palm, condensing into the greatsword of light.

The greatsword of light was 100 yards long. Dense sigils streamed across the blade, and every single one carried destructive power.

"Attack!"

All 3 thousand celestial cultivators struck at once.

Golden holy radiance surged toward Cloudrest like a rising tide.

Upon the city walls, Windclear threw his voice across the chaos.

"Defend!"

Every ward of the Wandering Cultivators Alliance came alive at once.

A golden screen of light dropped over the entire city and sealed it inside.

Sigils packed the surface of that screen so densely that it looked like it had grown countless eyes.

Under the impact of the holy radiance, they flickered bright and dim, bright and dim.

The first wave hit, and the screen of light held.

Golden holy radiance slammed into it with a deafening blast. The barrier shook so hard it looked ready to fold in on itself, but it did not break.

The second wave landed, and cracks ripped across the screen of light.

They spread outward like a spiderweb. Golden radiance leaked through them and stained the whole sky a dark gold.

The third wave struck, and the screen of light shattered.

Golden fragments burst outward in every direction, drifting through the air like countless golden butterflies.

Golden holy radiance poured down onto the city walls like a storm of rain.

Stone exploded apart. Dust and smoke blasted into the sky.

The cultivators of the Wandering Cultivators Alliance crouched behind the city walls and raised their shields against the holy radiance.

Some were hit and dropped straight into pools of blood.

Others were blown off their feet and hurled from the city walls.

They smashed into the ground below and never got back up.

Hadrian charged at the very front.

His war axe spun in his hands.

It split apart the holy radiance and hacked the incoming blades of light to pieces.

Holy radiance scorched his body black, flesh and skin charred where it touched him.

He did not give a single step.

Behind him stood his clansmen.

His brothers.

The ones who had put their trust in him.

Lydia followed right behind him.

The wraithblade flashed in the dark glow.

Her swordsmanship came in vicious, crooked angles.

Every thrust went for a celestial cultivator's vital point.
