Morgan's eyes brightened the moment he saw the materials.
He stepped up to the counter and picked up one of the beast cores first. Holding it to the light, he examined the surface carefully, then tapped it with a finger and listened to the sound. After that, he checked the hides, studying their shine and whether they were intact. His fingertip brushed across the edge of a bone spike before he leaned closer and sniffed the flesh with great care.
"Excellent goods."
This time, the praise in his voice was real.
"Peak Golden Immortal Level Five demon hound cores. Top quality. Thirteen cores, all clean, all whole, no cracks, no impurities. The hides are complete too. That is rare. Demon hound hide loses a great deal of value once an arcane tool burns it and leaves scorch marks. Not a single piece in this batch is damaged."
To be certain, he placed one core onto a fist-sized spiritual testing plate.
The needle on the plate shot straight into the "Peak Level Five" range.
After confirming everything, Morgan thought for a moment and raised one hand.
"For the materials from all thirteen demon hounds, Grand Trove Pavilion can offer one hundred fifty thousand high-grade crystals. What do you think?"
Rowan's face lit up.
One hundred fifty thousand high-grade crystals.
He had expected about one hundred thirty thousand at most. This was already higher than what he had in mind.
He was just about to agree when Jared spoke first.
"Three hundred thousand."
His tone was flat.
Almost casual.
Yet those three words made the entire hall pause. Even the attendant wiping a display case stopped with the cloth still in his hand.
Morgan's brow tightened slightly. He turned back to Jared, surprise passing through his eyes.
This young Golden Immortal Level One cultivator was not only the center of the group.
He also knew how to bargain.
And the price he gave was not random. It was high enough to force a new negotiation, but not so absurd that Morgan could simply laugh and end the deal.
"Young man, one hundred fifty thousand is already fair."
Morgan shook his head, still polite. "A Golden Immortal Level Five demon hound core sells for twelve to fifteen thousand on the market. Since you are selling in bulk, I calculated each core at ten thousand. That is reasonable.
"The hides, bone spikes, and flesh together make another thirty thousand. One hundred fifty thousand is not low. Ask any other buyer in Bermu City. You will not get a better offer."
Jared looked at him without a ripple in his black eyes.
His gaze paused briefly on the beast cores, then returned to Morgan.
When he spoke again, his words came out steady and exact.
"Peak Golden Immortal Level Five demon hound cores sell for fifteen to eighteen thousand each. Ten thousand is a lowball price.
"These hides are whole and unburned. At market value, each is worth at least two thousand. Thirteen hides make twenty-six thousand.
"Each bone spike is worth at least five hundred. Each demon hound carries thirty usable spikes. Thirteen demon hounds make one hundred ninety-five thousand.
"The flesh can also be sold. Once graded and processed, it adds at least another sixty-five thousand.
"Even by a conservative count, the total value is no lower than three hundred thousand. Offering one hundred fifty thousand means you are treating us like we do not understand the trade."
Jared did not raise his voice.
He did not release any pressure either.
He only listed the numbers one by one, clear and cold, as if he were doing simple arithmetic.
Rowan stared at him, stunned.
Gwendolyn also looked over with surprise. She clearly did not know how Jared had learned the prices of demon beast materials so quickly.
But this was not the time to ask.
Morgan's smile faded.
Not because Jared was wrong.
