Joseph arrived at Dolly’s lakeside villa. After spending the night there, he returned to the hospital the next day and resumed work.

“Dr. Hart, a lot of people called me last night asking where you were. I didn’t know what to tell them, so I just said I had no idea,” said Paige.

“I’m fine. When I’m off duty, I want to rest properly. So, I turned off my phone,” replied Joseph.

The truth was that he wanted to avoid Cora. He glanced over the day’s schedule. He had to attend a meeting first and then make ward rounds. After that, he had to discuss treatment plans with colleagues or attend specialist consultations. He had to keep himself busy.

Upon seeing Fiona, Joseph didn’t give her a chance to speak. He just instructed someone to take her to registration and arrange a chest X-ray. Naturally, she refused.

Once Fiona left, another person arrived. It was Joseph’s cousin-in-law, Sophia Lowell, whom he was unwilling to see.

Sophia was Cora’s cousin. Aside from her tall figure and attractive build, her facial features and complexion were much less remarkable. Most notably, her protruding teeth significantly diminished her overall appearance.

Sophia responded, “That isn’t it. I’m healthy, but I do need your help. I now work in the finance department at a pharmaceutical company. Since you suspended the contract, management gave me a task. They told me to talk to you.
