Chapter 194
In the evening, Joseph was surprised to see Grace there to pick him up. After a moment of hesitation, he got into her car.
“Let’s break the ice with some mundane talk first. What are your thoughts on the matter between New World Group’s pharmaceutical division and your hospital?”
Joseph replied, “Just join the bidding and come in through official channels. On this matter, I separate work from personal considerations.
“As a doctor, I am only responsible for my hospital’s patients. Honestly, if your goal is profit, there are many other places where you can make substantial gains.”
“I get it, Joseph. I won’t bring this up again.”
After a brief silence in the car, Grace smiled and said, “If you have any other questions, you can just ask me.”
Joseph thought for a moment. “I’ve been away for days. You didn’t manage to get any dirt on Cora at all?”
He knew Grace was gathering evidence of Cora’s infidelity, both to help him secure a divorce and to bring Cora down.
Since the DNA tests weren’t enough, catching her in the act was the only way left.
“There’s a lot of turmoil in the Jenton business scene right now. New World Group has started competing with the Lowell family for projects in Jenton. Cora’s focusing her energy on that.
“She’s basically been going between home and work recently. And the few social engagements she attends are all legitimate ones.”
“What about the man she went on a business trip with last time?”
“He hasn’t appeared again, and she hasn’t contacted him either. She knows you suspect her and that I’m investigating her, so she will only cheat if she is absolutely sure it is safe.”
Hearing this, Joseph sighed inwardly. His feelings toward Cora had long turned into disappointment, disgust, and hatred.
Grace turned her head to glance at the silent Joseph. She looked like she wanted to say something, but ultimately she refrained.
