After a lengthy consultation, the doctors agreed on a minimally invasive surgical plan, with the chief of surgery performing the procedure.

Joseph returned to the ICU and treated the critically ill patients there. He paid little attention to Warren’s condition. By the time he finished dealing with his own cases, Jennifer came to find him personally, insisting that he examine Warren again.

The surgery chief’s skills were solid, and the procedure was a complete success.

But to Joseph, that was the best possible outcome. It would allow Joseph to control when Warren woke up.

He had little to say about it. He simply told Jennifer to wait for Warren to regain consciousness, then returned to his work.

Around 4:00 pm, after a meeting, Joseph discovered Jennifer waiting in his office. There were visible injuries on her face, arms, and knees.

He asked, “What happened to you? Did someone hit you?”

Jennifer’s expression was a mixture of grievance and anger. Her gaze practically screamed for Joseph to do something about Cora

“Cora? Why would she hit you? Just call the police and have her arrested.” Joseph was a little surprised.

“L… She’s rich and powerful, while I’m just a nobody. I can’t possibly do anything to her,” Jennifer mumbled.

“If you can’t stand up to her, then I definitely can’t! The most I can do is prescribe some medicine and have a nurse treat your wounds.” Joseph acted weak and helpless, as if there was absolutely nothing he could do.

“If you can’t deal with her, then hurry up and wake Warren up so he can deal with her.”

After saying that, Jennifer left to have her injuries treated by a nurse.

How would Warren deal with Cora? By sleeping with her? Who did Jennifer think he was?

Joseph’s expression turned cold. After some thought, he called Cora. “Why did you have Jennifer beaten up?”

Cora said accusingly, “So when you call me, you don’t ask about me, the children, or the family. Instead, you call about some irrelevant woman? What exactly are you trying to pull?”
