The next morning, Joseph found Helen waiting for him in his office when he arrived at the hospital.

He frowned. “What are you doing here?”

Helen looked the sarne as always. The fire at the Lowell Group headquarters clearly hadn’t affected her much. After all, Cora and her employees were still working. They had simply relocated to another office.

Helen got straight to the point. “Joseph, come home and reconcile with Cora. We can still be family Name any condition you want. We’ll agree to anything that we can. The girls miss you terribly. They can’t live without you.”

“You’ve been together for almost 20 years. Surely you still feel love for her. At the very least, she’s family…”

Joseph sighed. “Are you seriously trying to blackmail me emotionally? If you really think those things matter, you should go home and criticize Cora first.”

Helen continued, “Joseph, can’t you be the bigger person? Can’t you compromise just this once?”

Joseph laughed coldly. “So that’s what this is really about. It’s exactly what Cora has always counted on. She believes she’s better than everyone else, so I always have to indulge her and give in. Unfortunately, she’s wrong!”
