Chapter 294
There was a saying that a great family couldn’t be brought down by outsiders alone. It had to rot from within before it could finally collapse.
Joseph felt that the saying fit the Zahns perfectly. If they had been as vulnerable as the Ashmores were before, the Croma faction would have wiped them out long ago.
Ever since the Croma faction came to Jenton and established New World Group, the Zahns remained unfazed. That just proved that the Croma faction posed no threat to the Zahns.
Moreover, New World Group wasn’t established in Jenton. Without a solid foundation, it was only a matter of time before it collapsed. That was why the Zahns could afford to sit tight.
Cora had made massive progress over the years. It seemed the Zahns had been helping her behind the scenes.
She had even kept the identity of the children’s father so well hidden. In a way, it was much like the Zahns’ reclusive way of life-different paths but the same outcome.
Joseph smoked, his expression dark.
“I don’t care who you are or where you come from. I’m going to find out who you are and make you pay the price!” Joseph sighed.
If Cora had been honest from the start and agreed to an amicable divorce, Joseph would have been fine with not receiving any compensation. They could go their own separate ways and live their own lives in peace.
But Cora refused to admit anything and even tried to deny the truth. That left him with no choice but to rebel. He had to resort to another way to end the marriage.
At the same time, Joseph also felt deeply humiliated. He was determined to restore his dignity and make the guy Cora had an affair with pay the price.
From the moment New World Group went up in flames, there was no turning back for Joseph.
No matter what came next, he could take it. That was how Joseph comforted himself. After regaining his composure, he went back to work.
In the evening, Mason approached Joseph and asked him to drop by the Traditional Medicine Center for a consultation.
Was that the same guy Cora had been talking about earlier?
Joseph spoke first. “Have them fax over the patient’s medical records, and I’ll have a look.”
