Joseph ended the call before calling the police. He had them launch an investigation to prove his innocence.

He had a vague feeling that another powerful family had infiltrated Jenton and was causing trouble behind the scenes, intending to frame him.

Later, he gave Grace a call and spread the news of Maurice’s poisoning in Jenton.

He knew the Croma faction would never give up on Jenton. Only by taking down the Zahns could they firmly establish themselves in Jenton for good.
