Since Joseph refused to go home, Cora was forced to leave.

Joseph was deeply disappointed in Cora. The peace he’d finally found had been disturbed once again.

The night passed peacefully, but he didn’t sleep.

The next day, Joseph went over to Dolly’s place to examine Belinda. He found that she had essentially made a full recovery. At the same time, however, he noticed something else.

A thought crossed Joseph’s mind. “Does the Zahn family have its own private medical facility?”

Belinda nodded. “They do. Barry mentioned it to me before. There’s a private forest estate deep inside Emerald Mountain. Hidden among the buildings, there is a private clinic dedicated to treating Mr. Zahn Senior.”

Belinda continued, “Unfortunately, the security is extremely tight there. Even someone like Barry couldn’t enter unless he was specifically summoned.”

Joseph quietly committed the name to memory. Then, he asked several more questions. Although Belinda only knew bits and pieces, it was enough for Joseph to glimpse more of the Zahn family’s hidden world.

The Zahns were simply too powerful, so he had no illusions about bringing them down. His goal remained the same-to find out who Cora had cheated on him with. He wanted to see exactly what kind of man Cora had chosen.

The more tightly Cora guarded that secret, the more determined Joseph became to uncover her lover’s identity and make him pay.

As they continued talking, Belinda’s phone rang. It was Paula, telling her that Maurice had died. The whole family was being called back for the funeral.

Joseph warned, “Be careful. Stay on alert. If anything feels wrong, leave immediately. When the Ashmores held at funeral, the entire place caught fire, and there were many casualties. Don’t let the same tragedy happen again.”

Belinda’s expression grew serious. “Is it really that dangerous?”
