Once Joseph was back in his office, he asked Peyton, “What happened?”

“Yara had some capable fighters by her side. I underestimated her. If I had sent a few more people, I could’ve captured her.”

Peyton dared not look Joseph in the eye. A failure was a failure. The more excuses she gave, the more incompetent she seemed.

“We’ve already tipped her off. It won’t be so easy to capture her next time.” Joseph sighed inwardly. By now, Yara had probably already left Jenton.

“Joseph, what is it about Yara that draws you to her?”

“Nothing specific. I just have a gut feeling that she has the answers to something I want to know. I can’t really explain it. I just want to bring her in so I can ask her myself.”

“I’ll have her captured next time,” Peyton promised.

She left some people behind to take care of her subordinates. Once they were in stable condition, she would have them transferred back to Venley.

Right around noon, Joseph received a call from Jenna. “Come over to the Traditional Medicine Center. You started this mess, so you handle it.”
