Chapter 450
“There are eight people. Are you sure the list is short? I don’t even know where any of them are. Finding eight specific people won’t be easy,” said Joseph, deliberately downplaying his confidence. If he acted too capable, Jenna wouldn’t help him anymore.
Jenna replied, “I know where all of them are. I can help you obtain their biological samples. Joseph, let me make one thing clear. If the truth you’re looking for isn’t among these eight men, I won’t be able to help you anymore.”
“That’s fair,” responded Joseph. He understood that they weren’t family or friends. The fact that Jenna was willing to help him this much was already more than he could have expected.
He didn’t put all his hopes on her alone. He had given the same instructions to his own people, as well as Yelena and Peyton.
As for Cora, Joseph hadn’t told her anything. There was always the possibility that she might secretly contact the man and help cover up the truth. Plans only succeeded when they were kept secret.
After getting the eight men’s home addresses from Jenna, none of which were in Emerald Mountain, Joseph left.
When Joseph arrived at his company, he restored his original appearance. Just as he finished cleaning his office, Cora arrived. He exclaimed, “You’re truly well-informed.”
Cora responded, “I hadn’t heard a single word from you for days. I missed you, and I was worried sick. The moment I found out you had returned, I was elated. I couldn’t wait to see you.”
Cora was extremely happy. Other than shaving his head again, making it easier to wear a wig, Joseph looked the same. She suspected that he had gone searching for another monastery and decided to become a monk again.
On the other hand, Joseph didn’t share the same enthusiasm. He finished up his work before boiling water to make tea. He asked, “Cora, you didn’t give Natalie and the others the antidote, did you?”
