“You petty man! Keep being greedy, and you’ll regret it,” Yara snapped. Even so, she pulled out another check for 50,000 dollars.

“Fine. I’m an honest doctor with principles. Ms. Zahn, your condition is deteriorating. At this rate, they’ll have no choice but to amputate in ten days,” Joseph replied.

Yara was utterly shocked. “What did you say?”

Amputation was the worst possible outcome she’d imagined. If that happened, her life would be ruined.

Joseph repeated himself. “Amputation.”

Yara glared at Joseph with even greater disgust. “You bastard! You’re an ugly freak and a quack doctor. You’d better take that back right now, or I’ll make sure you’re fired within the day.”

Joseph sighed. “See? I tell you the truth, and you refuse to believe me. You only want to hear comforting lies. That’s what they call refusing treatment out of fear. Fine, I’ll take it back. Take care of yourself.”

This time, Joseph didn’t confront her head-on. Instead, he acted meek and frightened.

“Get lost!” Yara immediately pressed the call button beside her to summon Jenna.

“Jenna is treating Desmond and Yolanda right now. She still has another consultation afterward, so you’ll have to wait a while,” Joseph replied before walking out.

He lingered outside for a moment before seeing Yara’s housekeeper wheel her toward Skylar’s room.

Just as they entered, Joseph saw Cora and Belinda arrive to see Yara.

Cora’s acting skills truly deserved an award. There wasn’t even a ripple of emotion on her face. It seemed like Joseph was wrong She put on an innocent act in front of Joseph because she was still trying to deceive him. The moment he wasn’t around, she switched back to being Skylar’s accomplice.

It certainly was impressive.

Joseph saw that Cora remained as elegant and radiant as ever. There wasn’t the slightest trace of the anxiety or indignation she’d shown whenever she denied having an affair in front of him.

As for Belinda, it wasn’t like Belinda was some saint either. Yet, she carried herself like a lofty, untouchable princess.

But in Joseph’s eyes, Belinda was equally despicable.

Birds of a feather sure flocked together.

That was the only way Joseph could describe the two women.

Without the access code, Cora and Belinda couldn’t enter. After a moment of thought, Joseph walked over and swiped his access

card for them.

“Get out! Who said you two could come in?” Yara’s angry voice rang out from inside the room as she ordered them to leave.

Moments later, the bodyguard escorted Cora and Belinda back out and remained standing outside the door.

Belinda said, “Looks like Yara’s backing out. That project’s dead. We’ll have to find another way.”

Joseph heard all of that.

So they came to discuss a business project. As expected, profit mattered the most to Cora. The interests of her and the Lowells came before anything else. Joseph thought Cora might actually teach Yara a lesson, but it seemed like he was just being delusional

Gora remained silent for a moment before ordering her own bodyguard to charge at Skylar’s guard. Unfortunately, her bodyguard was no match for him and was quickly subdued and shoved aside.
