A Man with Nerves of Steel (Joseph Hart) novel Chapter 494

Chapter 494

The female medical staff member in front of Joseph reached behind her and ended up touching his groin.

He assumed he had accidentally bumped into her while trying to look at the readings. Feeling embarrassed, he stepped back.

But he didn’t expect the female medical staff member to step back too. She still had her hand there, refusing to let go.

Since they were standing at the very back, and everyone in front of them was focused on treating Edmund, none of them noticed what was happening behind them.

The woman increased the pressure slightly.

Joseph realized something was off. Since the woman was taking advantage of him, he quietly got back at her. Startled by his move, she shoved his hand away and gave it a sharp twist too.

The woman was wearing gloves, so it didn’t hurt him. When she pulled her hand back, she acted as if nothing had happened at all.

Joseph noticed the flawless skin on her exposed neck and her glossy black hair. She had to be a young female doctor.

Was the woman pretending nothing had happened after taking advantage of him? Not a chance!

A mischievous thought occurred to Joseph, and he leaned forward, pressing himself against her. He immediately felt her softness and subtly moved against her.

In the end, the woman could no longer take it. She turned back and glared at him, and only then did he stop.

The woman was wearing a mask, but her eyes alone suggested that she was a real beauty.

Joseph simply wanted to give her a taste of her own medicine, but he did not follow through because he wanted to keep a low profile.

Up ahead, Reuben finished examining Edmund. Jenna and the others examined him as well, and all of them looked really solemn.

As the staff moved around, Joseph got a better view of Edmund, who had already developed hives all over his body. That was a symptom of him rejecting the blood transfusion.

Reuben performed acupuncture on Edmund. Seeing that Edmund did not respond to the treatment, he shook his head and said, “We’ve already done our best. The rest is up to fate.”

Everyone gradually left the hospital room.

Joseph wanted to head over to Yara’s room and see if Cora was still there. Seeing that Cora’s bodyguards were no longer at the hallway entrance, he knew she had probably already left.

Had Cora gone off to look for him? Or was she off to make money? Well, it was definitely the latter.

Joseph was utterly disappointed, but he could accept it now. With his current identity, Cora couldn’t recognize him or find him at all. But seeing that her life hadn’t been affected at all, Joseph knew his presence made little difference to her life.

The truth was, given Cora’s status and social standing, she could use money to solve 99% of her problems.

Cora was already 40 years old, and her children were grown. They no longer needed Joseph in their lives, so she could always find another man.

In fact, the children’s biological father had been revealed. Cora could be in a relationship with Skylar without needing to hide it.

If the Lowells and Zahns joined forces, it would be a powerful alliance.

The Zahns were in danger, and the Lowells were healthy. In their hands, money could be used to its fullest potential.

In that case, Cora should have agreed to a divorce. Otherwise, she would end up suffering the consequences.
