A Man with Nerves of Steel (Joseph Hart) novel Chapter 547

Chapter 547

At Joseph’s words, shock and fury flashed across Natalie’s face. She glared daggers at him and barked at her bodyguard, “Beat him to a pulp! Rip that filthy mouth apart! Break his arms and legs! Make him learn the hard way what happens when you mess with the Zahn family!”

The bodyguard obeyed without hesitation, charging forward and kicking at Joseph.

But what happened next left both her and Natalie utterly dumbfounded.

Joseph seized the opening to catch the bodyguard’s kicking leg with one hand and, with lightning speed, unzipped her pants.

“You pervert! I’ll kill you!” The humiliated bodyguard scrambled to pull her pants back up, but Joseph took the chance to dash to where he’d left his white coat. From one of the pockets, he pulled out a small aerosol spray.

He sprayed the bodyguard squarely in the eyes. She cried out in pain as her eyes burned violently, forcing them shut. Even so, she gritted her teeth and stumbled back into position, shielding Natalie with her own body.

Facing that sudden reversal, Natalie panicked. But she forced herself to remain composed as she stared at Joseph coldly, saying arrogantly, “If you dare lay a finger on me, my mother will make you wish you’d never been born.”

Joseph snorted. “You’re still trying to threaten me? You’ve left me with nowhere to go, so why would I be afraid now? So what if your mother is the richest woman in Jenton? Let me teach you something. When a man is willing to risk his life, anything can happen.”

A desperate man?

A chill ran down Natalie’s spine as she looked at Joseph.

The bodyguard endured the agony in her eyes and spoke through clenched teeth, “Don’t panic. He wouldn’t dare to come any closer. Quick, call Ms. Lowell for help.”

The bodyguard was on full alert despite the pain, capable of striking out at any time.

Natalie didn’t want to make the call, wanting to handle this herself. Joseph was nowhere near as easy to crush as she had imagined. He was stubborn and disgusting, in possible to move.

Joseph, meanwhile, had never intended to seriously harm Natalie, nor could he afford to expose this identity any further.

But this was his dormitory, and she had barged in with armed bodyguards. She was clearly the aggressor, while he was the victim. Both law and public opinion would be on his side.

In truth, before he’d even opened the door earlier, he’d quietly sent messages to Jenna and Gemma asking them to

come.

Just then, Gemma’s voice rang out from outside, and Joseph finally let out a quiet sigh of relief. He hurriedly put his wig back on and deliberately let one arm hang limply at his side.

The door swung open, and Gemma rushed inside. “Henry, what happened?”

Joseph grimaced in pain. “I think my shoulder’s been dislocated. I might have torn something. My leg hurts too. I don’t know if I’ll end up disabled.”

As he spoke, he repeatedly sucked in sharp breaths, putting on the appearance of someone in pain.

“He’s faking it! His arm and leg are perfectly fine!” Natalie immediately pointed at him, feeling her hatred for

But to Gemma and the others, the scene before them was obvious. Natalie and several bodyguards had cornered and assaulted a hospital doctor inside his own dormitory.

Hospital security followed standard procedure and called the police.

After a medical examination, the results showed that Joseph hadn’t suffered any fractures. He only had some superficial soft-tissue injuries. Ordinarily, they would’ve been considered too minor to matter. However, Gemma still issued a medical certificate classifying the injuries as minor bodily harm.

The reasoning was that Joseph already had an injured finger. The assault had aggravated a preexisting injury, which could legally be counted as assault.

Cora never appeared. Instead, Fiona arrived with members of the Lowell family’s PR team to negotiate a settlement.

They offered Joseph financial compensation, but he shook his head. “I only have one small request. Have Natalie Zahn come here herself and apologize to me. And since parents are responsible for their children’s upbringing, I want her family to apologize as well.”

Fiona said, “Her name is Natalie Hart-‘
