Joseph kept his eyes on Mona. From the subtle changes in her pupils as she wrote down the name, he could tell that she had made the name up.

By the time she finished writing, she was completely exhausted and could barely hold the pen properly.

Joseph told her to get some rest, gave the medical staff a few instructions, and left.

Then, he sent the information to Yelena, and she got back to him in no time.

Mona had indeed undergone cosmetic procedures at that clinic years ago. There wasn’t much information from before her procedures, but some records remained. Most importantly, there was a photo of her with the doctor.

From the photo, Joseph finally recognized who Mona really was.

Sure enough, Mona’s name before her cosmetic procedures wasn’t Leah Linden. It was Shayna Stone.

Joseph remembered that Cora had once hired a housekeeper named Shayna, and the woman now known as Mona was that very same housekeeper.

It finally clicked for Joseph why Mona had looked so familiar. It turned out that she had once worked as a housekeeper for his family. Who would’ve thought that she was actually working for Yara this whole time?

The realization sent a chill down Joseph’s spine. He felt as though he’d stumbled onto an important clue, but he still couldn’t quite make sense of it.

Cora had been working with Mona, but judging by Cora’s reaction, she probably hadn’t recognized Mona as the housekeeper who once worked for her.

Joseph wondered if Cora knew that Shayna had been working for Yara.

He wasn’t sure.

He then remembered that Shayna was terminated because Helen had caught her stealing. Helen wasn’t one to tolerate having a thief in the house, so she had Shayna kicked out.

Joseph compared the timing of Shayna becoming Mona with when the company was founded, and noticed that the company had been established first. It was almost as if there was a position waiting for her all along.

If Shayna already had a company, why would she still resort to stealing? Clearly, the theft had only been an excuse to get herself fired.

Joseph then thought of Mary, another housekeeper Cora had hired more recently. Not only had Mary been secretly involved with Frank, who had only been putting on an act with Cora, but she had also been working for Yara. If Joseph hadn’t put Mary through hell, she never would’ve revealed the existence of Lara or Yara.

“Why did Yara go to so much trouble to plant her people around Cora? What was she trying to do? Was she trying to help take care of Natalie and her sisters?

“Back then, Skylar was in the prime of his life and was one of the most outstanding members of the Zahn family’s younger generation. Cora was in her prime as well. Though she wasn’t yet the richest woman, she was already incredibly wealthy. It wasn’t likely that anyone would’ve objected to the two of them being together.

“Damn it! Why didn’t you two just get married? Why did you keep sneaking around after she married me? You even made me raise your children as my own! You’ve gone too far! You both deserve to die!”

A wave of murderous rage swept over Joseph. If Cora had been standing in front of him, he would really have cut

her open with a scalpel just to see how rotten she was inside.

But once he calmed down, the murderous urge faded. He reminded himself that all he perceived was but an illusion.

Still in a terrible mood, Joseph didn’t return to the hospital. Instead, he went to Beatrice for a massage before retiring for a good sleep.
