One day, he had these women brought to his clinic in a minibus converted into an ambulance. He then sent a message asking Cora to come over.

Joseph still didn’t show himself, but he left a tablet at the clinic with a messaging app they could use to talk.

Cora was thrilled to hear Joseph’s voice after so long and said, “Honey, come home now. Stop disappearing on me again. You’re being really childish. The kids and I love you. We want you to come home.”

“Cora, you want me to come home and raise Skylar’s children? Could you be any more shameless?”

“You’re wrong. Skylar’s not their father. You are!”

“Cora, look at the women right in front of you. Do you recognize any of them?” Joseph didn’t see any point in arguing with Cora about whether the children were his; it no longer mattered to him.

“I don’t know any of them. Are they sick? You’re a doctor. You should be the one looking after them. Why did you send them to me? Do you need me to cover their medical bills?” Cora asked.

“You can’t even recognize them? Then you’re either really unobservant or still in denial! They’re just like Mona, and Mona Scott is actually Shayna Stone! Do you know who Shayna is? Do you even remember who she is? She’s the housekeeper you fired!”

“What? Mona Scott and Shayna Stone are the same person? And all these women used to work as my housekeepers?”

Cora was utterly stunned. She studied the women again before turning to Shayna. She realized their faces were different, but their expressions and the way they carried themselves were strikingly similar to those of her former housekeepers.

Cora immediately asked, “Honey, what’s the meaning of this? What are you trying to tell me? What do you need me to do?”

“I can’t tell if you’re playing dumb, putting on an act, or just too stubborn to face the truth. Or maybe you really don’t know anything!

“Cora, let me spell it out for you. Skylar and Yara planted those women in your household to spy on your family. At the same time, they were giving me drugs to prevent me from having children, or even to make me permanently sterile. They wanted to make sure only Skylar could father your children.
