Skylar felt as if Joseph’s spanking of Natalie were right on his own body, and his expression immediately turned vicious. He started to get emotional, causing the readings on the monitors to spike and the alarms to blare incessantly.

He said coldly, “Henry, stop. Are you trying to get yourself killed?”

“Are you going to admit you were wrong?” Joseph ignored Skylar and kept spanking Natalie.

“Dad, he’s still hitting me…” Natalie was completely bewildered. Joseph had clearly gone insane. Not only was he bold enough to hit her, but he was hitting her hard.

Joseph scoffed. “What’s the point of calling out to your father? He can barely protect himself. Admit your mistake and apologize!”

“Uncle Henry, I’m sorry. I was wrong. I’m sorry.” Natalie couldn’t take it anymore.

Joseph asked, “Do you still want the money?”

Natalie replied, “My dad gave it to me.”

“If you have something to say about it, get healthy first.” Joseph ignored him and told Natalie to leave. One of his trusted medical staff members then entered and administered another injection to Skylar, putting him into a deep sleep.

Joseph escorted Natalie to the underground parking garage. “You go back on your word easily, lack basic respect, and have terrible character. Don’t come here anymore.”

Natalie shot back, “You hit me, and then you insult me. What gives you the right to do that? Do you even know who you are and where you stand? Do you think you have that kind of authority?”

Joseph chuckled. “It seems like you’re the one who doesn’t know where she stands. As long as Cora and Joseph haven’t divorced, and Cora and Skylar haven’t married, you’re nothing more than the illegitimate child Cora secretly had with Skylar behind Joseph’s back.

“Don’t act proud, as if you have nothing to be ashamed of. In upper society, people from respectable families won’t associate with an illegitimate child of questionable origins like you. And besides, Cora’s about to be kicked out of the Lowell family. Don’t think too highly of yourself.”

Natalie was furious. “You’re the bastard. Henry, you’re dead meat!”

Joseph said, “Are you threatening me now? Do you want another beating?”
