Chapter 670
Despite saying that, Josepk was actually thinking something else entirely.
His way of repaying their kindness would be to make sure their family was destroyed, their loved ones dead, and their entire legacy wiped out.
“You’d better be grateful. Otherwise, the Zahn family will take back everything we’ve given you, however much it was.” Skylar had to admit he was starting to appreciate Joseph a little.
He was ugly, but ambitious. And so far, Joseph clearly knew how to use his advantages. He had won over Yara’s heart, and through her, gained access to the wealth of both siblings.
Joseph stared at Skylar and continued, “Right now, I need the Zahn family to protect me and help me get through the trouble I’m facing. You didn’t say anything when I disciplined Natane for you yesterday. But Cora wasn’t happy about it. She threatened to kill me.”
Skylar was somewhat surprised. “Cora wants to kill you?”
Joseph nodded. “That’s right. I was lucky enough to hide from her last night. Otherwise, her people would’ve killed me right in the hospital. You managed to get her to have three children for you, so you must have subdued her by now. Why don’t you put in a good word for me?”
Skylar said, “You’re marrying into the Zahn family. She wouldn’t dare touch you.”
Joseph sighed and shook his head.
Skylar snorted. “What do you mean by that? Being the Zahnfamily’s son-in-law is something most people can only dream of, but you’re unhappy about it?”
Joseph said, “I thought you’d hand over some people to me so I could command them. Then I’d kidnap Cora and teach her that I’m not someone she can mess around with.”
Skylar said coldly, “Most of our personnel are under Owen’s control right now.”
Joseph asked, “What about the people you’ve brought up yourself? Don’t you have any bodyguards, enforcers, friends, or trusted confidants?”
Skylar shook his head. “I don’t.”
Joseph frowned. “How could you possibly have none? You just don’t want to let me use them. You’re still planning to make a comeback once you’re discharged, aren’t you?”
Skylar merely snorted and said nothing. He was already starting to regret listening to his sister and handing his money over to Joseph. If he handed over his connections and resources as well, he’d truly have nothing else.
Joseph said, “Fine, I won’t force you. Skylar, how do you see Cora as a woman? You had her bear your children, bu you never married her. If you don’t want her anymore, why don’t you give her to me?”
Skylar narrowed his eyes. “Henry, have I been too lenient with you?”
Joseph ignored the anger in Skylar’s eyes. “This was actually Yara’s idea. She knows that she can’t have children for me, given her condition. She’s agreed that I can find another woman to be a surrogate, or simply have another woman bear my child.
“After some thought, Cora’s the most beautiful woman in Jenton. Conveniently, she’s already yours. If you hand

her over to me, we’d at least still be keeping the good stuff within the family.”
Skylar growled. “Once Tresover, you’re the first person I’m going to kill. Not even Yara will be able to stop me!”
Joseph sighed. “Look at you, getting so worked up again. I was just casually mentioning it. If you’re unhappy, don’t take it seriously. Besides, Cora is technically still married to Joseph. If I wanted to touch her, I’d have to ask Joseph whether he agreed or not.”
Skylar snarled. “Joseph? I’ll kill him!”
