Joseph said, “It’s hard for Yara to get around now. I don’t think she has the guts to see you either.

“So we can’t give you what you’re asking her for. Besides, what if she goes after your family?”

“Let her try! She may be a Zahn, but she’s a nobody in that family. Even if I kill her now, they won’t even care!”

Cora flashed Joseph a smile and said, “I’ve already reached out to Owen through a third party. He has agreed that I can handle Skylar and Yara as I see fit. Even if I kill them, he won’t say a thing.”

At first, Joseph was surprised by what Cora told him, but he remembered how wealthy she had become, especially with the Provora project. Even though she had moved from Lowell Group to Hart Group, her stake in that project hadn’t changed at all.

Cora was still the richest person in Jenton. That meant she had the power to negotiate with Owen.

The Provora project was a gold mine. Between Owen and Cora, whoever secured it would gain an advantage over

the other.

Since Cora had already made it very clear, Joseph had nothing more to say. Once he was back at the villa, he told

Yara what Cora wanted.

Sure enough, Yara refused. She didn’t have the guts to see Cora, especially not now. She was at a critical stage in recovery, so she couldn’t afford to upset Cora. What if that ended up angering Joseph?

Yara didn’t know Cora was behind what had happened to her and Skylar. If she fell into Cora’s hands now, Cora might use her to curry favor with Joseph.

Besides, Cora didn’t know that Joseph was treating Yara. She might just use Yara as a bargaining chip to win Joseph over.

Yara sighed and told Joseph to handle it however he saw fit, and she would focus on recovery instead.

At night, Joseph arranged for his people to abduct Helen and make it look as though Yara’s people were behind it. Then they had Helen call Cora and ask her to release Tessa and her children, as well as demand compensation from the Lowells.

Enraged, Cora led a team to Yara’s villa and demanded that she hand Helen over. Instead of letting her in, Yara called the police.

When the officers arrived, they found no sign of Helen in the villa. Since there was no direct evidence linking Yara to the abduction, they couldn’t take her into custody.

Joseph stayed by Yara’s side and comforted her. He secretly told her not to back down. With the Zahns and the medical sect backing her, she didn’t have to give in to Cora.

Seeing that Yara didn’t want to go up against Cora, he said it made perfect sense for her not to cross her sister-in

-law.

Later, Joseph had his team pose as Cora’s people and go after Harry at the hotel. Not only did they take pictures of him in bed with an overweight woman, but they also drugged him and pressured him into handing over all his
