Chapter 721
When Joseph returned, he told Yara that Cora suspected him of abducting Helen, to see how she would respond. To his surprise, she refused to believe it.
“Joseph would never abduct his mother-in-law. Never! If it wasn’t one of the Lowells, I’m guessing one of their enemies was behind it.
“It could’ve been the Snows or even the Goulds,” Yara said. She was actually sticking up for Joseph.
Joseph shot back. “You trust Joseph? What reason do you have to trust him?”
“I… I don’t know. It’s just a gut feeling. I just know something fishy’s going on. Cora abducted Tessa. Then her own mom got taken away too.
“And now Henry’s been beaten up? It feels like they’re going after each other. Don’t you think it’s too much of a coincidence? 1
“Think about it. Is Joseph even capable of something like that?” Yara studied Joseph’s expression carefully. Seeing how unhappy he was when she brought him up, she stroked his chest and leaned into his embrace.
Joseph was surprised by her take on things. As he held her, he could tell more clearly than ever that she didn’t
love him.
If he had been able to see past his love for Cora more than ten years ago, he might have noticed her infidelity
sooner.
Joseph took a closer look at Natalie, Selena, and Kimberly. Even though they resembled Cora more, he could tell they didn’t exactly look like him.
Now that Skylar had shown up, Joseph couldn’t help but realize Natalie, Kimberly, and Selena looked just like him. The same could be said of Tessa’s children.
After all, children inherited their parents’ features. One way or another, they would bear some resemblance to their parents.
He said, “You know better than anyone what Joseph is capable of. Since he’s willing to save you, that means you must’ve struck some kind of secret deal with him.”
“Henry, can you stop doubting me? Once I’m fully recovered, I’ll give myself to you. I’m all yours. My heart belongs to you.
“I’ve given you everything I have, yet you’re still doubting me. What else would you have me do?”
“Give me all your money. That way, if Joseph ever asks you for it, he can get it through me.”
“Sure!” Yara kissed Joseph’s cheek, a hint of resentment flashing in her eyes.
Joseph was way too greedy. He was practically asking for trouble.
But as his hands moved lower, her gaze softened. He did have his redeeming qualities.
Yara knew she had no future with Joseph. Even if she did have his children, he would just use them against her. And he would never marry her either.

In the end, Yara still wanted to be with her fiance.

She said, “Let’s not talk about Joseph. We need to talk about our family and the medical sect. Now that Harry’s been beaten up, and the head of the medical sect is overseas, you’re the only one who can call the shots.”
“Oh? Are you saying I should use this opportunity to stir up some trouble and establish myself in the medical sect? And maybe even become the new leader?
“Well, you’re underestimating Mr. Zahn Senior, aren’t you? He’d rather work something out with Cora than even see me. That just means I still have to work hard and prove myself.”
