Chapter 725
After the treatment, Joseph left Yara in an incredibly compromising position. He hadn’t bothered moving her, so she simply remained exposed like that and fell asleep.
The next day, she had a nightmare that Cora discovered what she and Joseph were doing. Enraged, Cora tightened her grip around Yara’s neck, squeezing until she could barely breathe. Just as she was on the verge of suffocating, Yara jolted awake.
Yet reality was even more cruel. Henry was actually gripping her by the throat, making it difficult for her to breathe. She was already on the verge of suffocation.
She stammered, “Henry, what are you doing?”
Only then did Joseph release her. Yara immediately gulped down the fresh air greedily.
Joseph deliberately feigned ignorance. “Yara, what have you done? You went behind my back and met up with another man? You cheated on me? I’ll fucking kill you.”
Yara panicked. “I didn’t! How could I possibly meet up with someone? Besides, I’m not that kind of woman. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have been the one to get my first kiss, or my first time. Henry, you can’t accuse me of something I didn’t do.”
Only then did Yara realize what had happened.
After treating her, Joseph had removed his needles and left. At the time, her entire body had been tingling and weak, leaving her completely unable to move. She couldn’t even lift her arms, much less muster the strength to pull a sheet over herself.
Before Joseph arrived, he had contacted her. Joseph had knocked out the people around her before treating her. Unexpectedly, Henry had been the first one to wake up. He had seen her in that compromising state post- treatment, which had led to this misunderstanding.
This wasn’t the first time something like this had happened.
As she spoke, Yara mixed genuine grievance with a carefully performed helplessness. Tears immediately welled up in his eyes. “Henry, can’t you see? This is just how Joseph is trying to get revenge on me. He didn’t sleep with me, but he staged the scene to make you think he did to drive a wedge between us.
“Look closely. The marks on my body are all from when I struggled, and he beat me. I’m the victim here. Henry, where were you when he was beating me and violating me?”
That question struck hard. After that, she no longer bothered hiding behind a performance. She burst into loud sobs and cries.
Joseph said, “Are you blaming me now? You’ve fallen for Joseph, haven’t you? He’s more handsome than me, and he can please you better than I can. All these years, you and your brother have been secretly watching him and Cora’s married life.
“You must have had feelings for him. And now that he can even treat your illness, aren’t you tempted?”
Yara felt a chill down her spine at those words. She had originally thought that Henry would feel ashamed. After all, Joseph had been toying with her right under Henry’s nose. Yet instead, Henry was blaming her.

Unfortunately, some of what he said had struck dangerously close to the truth.
For all these years, especially since Cora had risen to become the richest woman in Jenton, the Zahn siblings had become even more determined to control her. Yara really had been curious about Joseph and Cora’s married life. She had even watched streams and recordings Mary had secretly filmed.
Joseph might not come from a powerful background, but as a man, he was handsome and exceptionally capable in the bedroom. As a woman, it was only natural that Yara might have entertained a few thoughts about him.
She had seen Joseph send Cora to cloud nine before. At that moment, Cora had seemed to exude a natural beauty. She was radiant and utterly alluring, with every inch of her exuding feminine charm.
Yara had been intensely envious. To say she didn’t want something like that for herself would have been a lie.
Joseph had altered his appearance as Henry so thoroughly that it was no longer just his face. He had even remodeled his body, turning what had once been astonishing both in length and girth into something that was now impressive only in girth, like an iron club.
If Jenna hadn’t known who he really was, anyone would have taken him for a completely unknown stranger.
Yara hurriedly denied it. “How could that possibly happen? How could such a terrifying thing possibly happen? Henry, stop being so suspicious. I really do love you. If you don’t believe me, then just strangle me to death.”
