A Man with Nerves of Steel (Joseph Hart) novel Chapter 756

Chapter 756

Yara came over and asked, “I never would have guessed it would be Rhea. She’s eccentric and unpredictable. There’s such a huge generation gap between us. What are you going to do?”

Joseph replied, “We still have some time, but not much. You need to put up more money and speed up your plans.

Yara complained, “Why do you keep asking me for money? I’ve already given you everything I had. I barely have anything left.”

Yara knew that although Rhea wanted to marry Joseph, the wedding wouldn’t be held anytime soon. Owen had always been low-key. Since Rhea would be the second wife, Owen would just host a small gathering at home and a larger banquet at the ancestry hall. That would be enough.

As long as Rhea and Joseph could delay the wedding until Yara recovered, it would be toward the end of the year. So, they still had some time.

Joseph said, “In that case, you can give up on your plans. Otherwise, what are you willing to sacrifice? If you won’t give me money, how am I supposed to help you? You have your heart set on Joseph, and you’re still thinking about giving him money.

“What am I supposed to be? You can do whatever you want with Joseph, but you need to keep your money here. I can’t walk away with nothing.”

Yara protested, “You don’t have to put it like that. I really don’t have any money left.”

Joseph pressed on, “What about your brother?”

Yara answered, “He should still have some, but he hasn’t woken up. We still haven’t found a suitable kidney donor. Give us a bit more time.”

Joseph walked over and leaned down, whispering into Yara’s ear. “Give you more time? By then, I’ll have already walked away on my own. Don’t forget, Mr. Zahn Senior is practically my father-in-law now. If I really put my mind to it, I can push all of you aside and take the position for myself.”

Yara replied, “You aren’t part of the main branch. You can’t take over. You aren’t legitimate. Do you understand?

Joseph questioned, “I could put Rhea in charge while I stay behind the scenes and pull the strings. What’s wrong with that?”

“You can’t be that ruthless. We’re on the same side!” Yara shouted. She realized that Joseph might actually abandon her and Skylar before striking out on his own.

Just then, someone knocked on the door. Joseph went to answer it and found Eugene standing outside. Joseph asked, “What brings you here?”

“I came to check on you. Seeing that you can already walk on your own puts my mind at ease. Let’s have a chat,” responded Eugene. He looked Joseph over. Although Joseph had injuries, his complexion wasn’t bad.

Joseph called Beth in to look after Yara. Then, he and Eugene left the room. Once they reached the road outside the village, Eugene said, “I was surprised by how suddenly you rose to prominence, but every generation

produces its own exceptional people.

“Eventually, the newcomers surpass those who came before them. You’ve already passed Mr. Zahn Senior’s test. It’s time for you to start carrying some responsibility.”

Joseph asked, “Am I capable of that?”

Eugene replied, “Why wouldn’t you be? Mr. Zahn Senior trusts you enough to entrust Rhea to you. So, why shouldn’t I trust you with the medical sect? From now on, you’ll take over the core operations and help shoulder some of my workload.

“Of course, you don’t need to put too much pressure on yourself yet. Once you and Rhea are married and have finished your honeymoon, I’ll formally hand the reins over to you.”

Joseph responded, “You’ve thought this through for me. What else can I say? I suppose I’ll have to accept.”

Eugene chatted with Joseph for a little while longer before telling Joseph to go back and rest. After resting for a night, Joseph used the excuse of needing to take Yara back to continue treatment for her critical condition to leave the mountain.

Joseph hadn’t expected Cora to already be waiting in the parking lot. He got out of his car and got into her car.

Cora immediately cheered, “Dr. Zahn, congratulations. Overnight, you’ve become Mr. Zahn Senior’s prized son- in-law. From now on, we’ll have to understand each other a little better and work together even more closely.”

Cora congratulated Henry right away. She couldn’t help looking at him in a completely different light.

Joseph replied, “You can’t just look at me enjoying the benefits. You should also take a look at what I had to go through to get them.”
