Joseph went over Winona’s latest results with her and explained what was going on. He asked if she would prefer surgery, conservative treatment, or to return to Larkton for treatment.

Winona had Joseph reach out to Larkton University Hospital. After getting the experts’ opinion, she decided to go for conservative treatment first. If it didn’t work, she would return to Larkton for surgery.

Joseph assembled a team of experts to have a quick video call consultation with the experts at Larkton University Hospital. After finalizing a treatment plan, they presented it to Owen and Daniel. Once the two men gave the green light, the team put the plan into action.

In the wee hours of the morning, Winona woke up with a start and found herself still in the hospital room. But standing next to her was a man who looked strangely familiar.

The handsome, distinguished-looking middle-aged man was none other than Joseph.

Winona knew Cora very well, so she knew about her husband too. She felt as though she were in a dream.

Winona was at the Traditional Medicine Center, which was under the Zahn family’s control. Henry was in charge, so there was no way Joseph could have infiltrated the place.

She asked, “Am I in a dream?”

She didn’t hear Joseph’s answer. All she saw was him nodding and shaking his head.

That was Joseph’s little trick. He mostly got the information he wanted through a few casual questions.

For example, he asked about Cora’s friendship with Winona, but he was actually trying to find out more about Cora’s relationship with Winona’s husband, Lyle Dixon.

Based on the information Cheryl and the others provided about the Dixons, Joseph learned that Lyle was 45 years old. He was Daniel’s youngest son and highly regarded within the family. He was also quite a womanizer.

“Cora, would you ever admit to having a thing with Lyle?”

The answer was no.

Joseph knew that as long as he never caught Cora in bed with another man, she would never admit to having an affair. And the so-called evidence would only confirm what he already knew, only to have it rubbed in his face all over again.

Based on what Winona had told him, he realized that she had been plotting against Cora for some time. The Dixons had been grooming people so they could take their fortunes for themselves later.

The media in Jenton began showering praise on Hart Group’s charity fund and even went out of their way to praise Winona for her generosity. They even gave her honorary titles, calling her the honorary chairwoman of the foundation, the ambassador, and much more.

Winona had gone to Jenton, planning to walk away with everything Cora had. She had tried taking advantage of Cora, only to end up losing far more than she had ever imagined. She was so angry that she passed out.

Back at Hart Group’s headquarters, Cora was feeling conflicted.

She was delighted that the Dixons’ scheme against her had failed, and she had ended up taking some of their money instead. It was a win for her and a loss for them, and Joseph had been more than willing to help her.

But she was also worried about how powerful Joseph had become. She wondered how he had gotten Winona to cough up such a large sum of money, and he hadn’t even told her what he had done.
