Chapter 94
Fiona entered Joseph’s study. There was something she felt she had to say to Joseph.
“To be honest, you’ve pushed things too far this time. After the mess Natalie caused at Meridian Group, people are definitely going to take advantage of the situation. When that happens, the Lowell and Ashmore families will suffer.”
Joseph didn’t respond to Fiona. Instead, he wrote down a prescription on the paper before handing it to her.
“You have menstrual cramps, which is why your monthly periods are so agonizing. You’ve been taking modern medicine to manage the pain, but that only treats the symptoms. Take my prescription and have the herbs prepared.
“Drink it either the day before your period starts or on the first day. It should ease the pain considerably. Keep taking it for three months, and the cramps should be gone completely.” a
“Y-You figured that I’ve menstrual cramps just from checking my pulse earlier? You’re an amazing doctor!
Fiona looked both embarrassed and unsettled. Earlier, she had only let him take her pulse because she wanted to steer the conversation and get information out of him. Besides, Fiona had never really believed in traditional medicine. To her surprise, Joseph had accurately diagnosed a condition she had kept hidden.
“I’m no better than you at anything outside of medicine. Every field has its own expertise. But I did notice another issue with your health. I didn’t write a prescription for it because you wouldn’t believe me anyway.
“I suggest you see a gynecologist, preferably an experienced one. Get a proper check on your chest. There are signs of breast hyperplasia. If you don’t treat it early, it could develop into breast cancer. By then, you’ll have to do either surgery or chemotherapy.”
“Damn it! You’re more terrifying than the medical sites I’ve read online. If you keep talking, I’m going to start thinking I’m going to die. I really can’t chat with you anymore.”
Fiona didn’t believe Joseph because she was young and healthy. She left the study in a hurry.
Soon after, Fiona saw Joseph coming out with his briefcase. “Where are you going?” she asked.
Fiona considered stopping him; she knew Cora wouldn’t approve of him leaving at a time like this.
