Joseph was about to head out when Ella insisted on driving him again.

“Who’s going to do the household chores if you are coming along with me? I fired the last housekeeper because she couldn’t do her job properly. You may be new here, but I can dismiss you just the same

“Ms. Lowell hired me. She said I will report to her.”

Ella wasn’t intimidated by Joseph’s threats. After spending the past few days in the villa, she had figured out that despite being the master of the house, Joseph clearly held the least power and money

“You’re so obedient to Cora. If she told you to sleep with me, would you agree to that too?”

“Ms. Lowell told me she’d never ask that of me when I first came. In fact, she told me that if you ever try to lay a hand on me, I have her full permission to beat you up-so long as I stay away from your face and your vitals.”

“You’re so loyal to Cora. But if she ever falls, you will be in trouble too.”

Joseph was in a foul mood. He swore to himself that he would make his wife regret her words.

Upon arriving at the sanatorium, Joseph ordered Ella to park by the main gates and stay put. Then, he hopped into Fiona’s car to head out for his private consultations.

When Joseph came back, Ella was still faithfully waiting in the car without leaving

“Why were you in that for so long? I haven’t eaten yet. I was starving waiting for you.”

“You could’ve gone home first. I would call you if I needed you to pick me up.”

“No. Ms. Lowell told me not to leave your side. I have to make sure you stay within sight at all times”

Joseph frowned. Cora had intentionally chosen someone who was honest and stubborn She believed a person like that could keep him under control.
