A Mix-up Made Me His Enemy's Woman novel Chapter 14

Chapter 14

Holly called Bethany and asked urgently, Beth, what’s going on between you and my uncle?

Bethany froze, wondering if Holly had already found out about them.

Why do you ask, Hols?she asked, forcing herself to sound calm.

Bethany didn’t want to tell Holly about her relationship with Noah. Even if it was just to preserve what little pride she had left, she didn’t have to endure anyone’s mockery since no one had found out. All she wanted was to forget it quietly and leave that ridiculous past behind.

Haven’t you heard? I wanted to recommend you to my cousin’s company, but he told me that my uncle had already spread the word. He said that you were fired and that no company could hire you.

Did you cross my uncle, Beth? He’s gone too far, though. Who does he think he is, banning every company from hiring you? This won’t do. I’m going to confront him on your behalf!

Bethany arched her brow. So, that was it.

She relaxed and hurriedly comforted her furious friend. Don’t make rash decisions, Hols. Maybe it’s because I interrupted his date with his fiancee. Last time, during their gathering, I went to look for him to get a document signed.

It’s fine, Hols. I don’t want you to get into a fight with your uncle because of me. I’m alright, and I already have a plan. Don’t worry.

Unfortunately, her words weren’t enough to calm Holly. Don’t worry, Beth. I’ll keep an eye out for you! My uncle can’t possibly shut every door on you.

After hanging up, Bethany smiled bitterly. Then, she sent another message to reassure Holly.

She genuinely didn’t want to have anything to do with Noah anymore. In the future, she would take over her father’s hotel and never cross paths with Noah again.

Noah waited for two days. He had deliberately had his nephew, Tristan Vazquez, pass the message to Holly. Yet, he still hadn’t received a single call from Bethany.

Ella had also heard the news. However, she assumed that Noah was finally sick of Bethany.

Are you busy right now, Noah?Ella showed up at his office again with a small cake.

Noah’s brows drew together, but he still plastered a smile on his face. What brings you here, Ella? You don’t have to keep bringing me food. I’m worried you’ll tire yourself out.

Ella stomped her foot and pouted. But I miss you. I wanted to see you! You’ve been so busy lately, Noah.

We haven’t seen each other for days. Don’t you miss me at all?

Noah smirked and playfully tapped her nose. You cheeky little thing.

Ella took out the cake that her family’s housekeeper had prepared. Here, have a bite, Noah. I think I’ve gotten better this

time!

Noah didn’t like sweets, but he couldn’t bring himself to disappoint her. Hence, he took a small bite. Mm, it’s good.

Ella beamed and opened her mouth. Feed me, Noah!

Noah chuckled and used the spoon he had just used to feed her a bite.

Ella knew exactly what men liked to hear. Her cheeks flushed as she giggled. It tastes better when

you

feed me, Noah.
