“Some of them come from places where life is brutally hard. For these families, you’re their lifeline!” the producer pleaded. “If you turn us down, there’s simply no way some of these patients will get help!”
He was eager—too eager—for Calliope to say yes, his persuasion edging toward manipulation, mixing flattery with a hint of desperation.
Calliope had little interest in reality TV. But the mention of patients in need, the larger purpose of bringing traditional medicine to light—that struck a chord. Her mentor’s words echoed in her mind: "Share what’s been given to you. Let the world see what true healing can do."
She’d always believed in holistic medicine’s power. The problem wasn’t the practice—it was the shortage of real talent. In skillful hands, the results could be swift and profound. The trouble was so few studied it, fewer still excelled. Maybe, just maybe, the show could be a springboard, stirring new interest, drawing in fresh talent.
Calliope realized she’d let herself drift, growing complacent these past years. Now, she felt her mentor’s words nudging her forward once more.
“Ms. Jewell?” The producer’s voice cut through her thoughts. “You’re awfully quiet.”
“Are you sure you’re not interested? Please reconsider! We’ve approached several doctors, but you’re the one who stands out—you’d be wonderful for the show, and everyone says you’re genuinely kind!”
He’d moved to flattery now, laying it on thick.
After a moment’s hesitation, Calliope replied, “Let me think about it. I have a lot on my plate right now. Give me a few days—I’ll call you, and we can talk more.”
“Absolutely! We’re still early in pre-production, so there’s no rush. Handle your business first!” he replied quickly, seizing on her softened tone. He knew when to quit while ahead and ended the call without another word.
Calliope set her phone down, lost in thought. She stared into space for a while, only to be snapped out of it by Zachary’s voice calling from across the set.

Oh wrestling expert ey? So is this Khamzat Chimaev or Shavkat Rakhmonov? Because Khabib's would be too haram....
Oh no. Million is just mix of Conor McGregor, Islam Makhachev, Mike Tyson, Max Holloway, Anderson Silva... I bet he lands 5sec flying knees like Jorge Masvidal too. Oh nope, 1sec knees. And has faster left hooks than Alex Pereira. Definitely would win UFC championship in every weight division including women. Poor Zhang Weili....
Okay so.... Million is now from East. Arctic wolf from East, modified genetically so he can manage his own Instagram and probably also box like Mike Tyson and snapping left hooks like Alex Pereira....
This is starting to be the same twister of abilities as Cassandra Yates and Tiffany. But question is, why the hell Silas can't just open his mouth and tell Caliope that she's the one whom he has in his heart. He would prevent a lot of misunderstanding. Seems like despite capability of talking with modified arctic wolf, she's not like telepathic....
Oh no, so FL is again another hidden genius with both hemispheres working on hundreds... Ffffuuuu. Cassandra Yates and Tiffany were already enough, ughugh. And Tiffany was even more exaggerated than Cassandra....
That's weird, in the first chapters there was said that her bio parents and bros doteď on Caliope but then they adopted Lisette, but this chapter suddenly says otherwise. Did author forget what he wrote?...
