“No matter how I look at it, the Jewell family is a total disaster now. Even if I wanted to wash my hands of them, even if I cut ties completely, there’s no way to avoid being caught up in their mess,” Ulysses said with a weary laugh. “Thank you, Callie. Honestly, I know the only reason I haven’t been mixed up in trouble lately is because of you.”
Calliope nodded, offering no protest. He was right—he’d only stayed untouched because she’d shielded him. She couldn’t let the whole production go down because of his family drama. Thankfully, those loanshark debts the Jewells had racked up weren’t connected to him; he hadn’t been involved in any of it. With all his traveling for shoots, Lisette hadn’t gotten the chance to drag him down with the rest.
“You don’t need to worry. If anyone tries to tag those debts onto you, I won’t allow it,” Calliope said, looking him straight in the eye. “As long as you keep your distance from your family, I can promise—no one will come after you or make trouble.”
“And I heard your contract with your current agency is about to expire?”
Ulysses nodded. “Yeah, it’s almost up.” His agency had already told him they wouldn’t be renewing. With the Jewell family’s name in ruins, he was sure to get swept up in the scandal, and obviously the agency didn’t want that risk. It meant his showbiz career was probably dead in the water. The thought made him force a rueful smile.
“Would you be interested in signing with Alpha Entertainment?” Calliope asked, leveling her gaze at him.
Ulysses stared at her in surprise, then shook his head. “Alpha Entertainment is huge. Why would they want me? After everything that’s happened with my family, I’m tainted by association. Most of my jobs have already been canceled.”
“Well, I guess this is what we deserve,” he said with a sigh. “If only we’d trusted you more back then, treated you better… Lisette never would’ve had her chance. Who would have thought she’d turn out so vicious? She played every one of us. To be honest, my parents—yeah, they regret everything now.”
“But it’s too late,” he added, his voice quiet. “We made this bed, now we have to lie in it.”

Oh wrestling expert ey? So is this Khamzat Chimaev or Shavkat Rakhmonov? Because Khabib's would be too haram....
Oh no. Million is just mix of Conor McGregor, Islam Makhachev, Mike Tyson, Max Holloway, Anderson Silva... I bet he lands 5sec flying knees like Jorge Masvidal too. Oh nope, 1sec knees. And has faster left hooks than Alex Pereira. Definitely would win UFC championship in every weight division including women. Poor Zhang Weili....
Okay so.... Million is now from East. Arctic wolf from East, modified genetically so he can manage his own Instagram and probably also box like Mike Tyson and snapping left hooks like Alex Pereira....
This is starting to be the same twister of abilities as Cassandra Yates and Tiffany. But question is, why the hell Silas can't just open his mouth and tell Caliope that she's the one whom he has in his heart. He would prevent a lot of misunderstanding. Seems like despite capability of talking with modified arctic wolf, she's not like telepathic....
Oh no, so FL is again another hidden genius with both hemispheres working on hundreds... Ffffuuuu. Cassandra Yates and Tiffany were already enough, ughugh. And Tiffany was even more exaggerated than Cassandra....
That's weird, in the first chapters there was said that her bio parents and bros doteď on Caliope but then they adopted Lisette, but this chapter suddenly says otherwise. Did author forget what he wrote?...
