A Reborn Bride Pearl Emerging from Dust novel Chapter 1069

“Is there something wrong with your knees? Why do you people drop to the floor at the slightest provocation?” Calliope said, exasperated. “I can’t just walk in and perform surgery whenever I please. I’m not his attending physician, and this isn’t my hospital!”

“How can you expect to operate in someone else’s hospital without following any proper procedures?” she added, shaking her head. “Surely they’ve got their own protocols.”

“They'll make an exception for you, Ms. Jewell!” one of the doctors chimed in eagerly. “That’s right—The Miracle Doctor! Our director is always talking about your skills. He absolutely adores you!”

“I’ll get the director right away!”

It was obvious the doctors wanted to see the fabled Miracle Doctor at work just as much as they wanted to save a life. In no time, the hospital director himself was ushered in.

True to form, the director didn't waste a breath on formalities. “Prep an operating room. Dr. Calliope will lead the surgery,” he ordered without hesitation.

“You really mean it?” Calliope stammered, a little stunned. She only came to observe; now she was being thrust into the role of lead surgeon.

“Miracle Doctor, I trust you implicitly,” the director said with gravitas. “This operation is critical to Mr. Howell’s survival. We need you.”

She originally had no plans to get involved. But seeing how helpless everyone looked, and knowing time was ticking for Nigel, Calliope realized there was no one else for the job.

With a resigned breath, she headed for the operating theater.

Damien arrived a little later, after searching the hospital top to bottom. He finally caught sight of Nigel’s men crowding outside the operating room.

“Where is my wife?” Damien demanded.

“She’s in surgery!” one of Nigel’s men said immediately.

“What?” Damien was taken aback.
