Calliope stared at him, speechless at his audacity. After a long moment, she simply turned back to her drink, ignoring him.
"I'm being serious," Nigel pressed, frowning. Did she think he was incapable of sincerity?
He didn't have a particular romantic interest in anyone, so he figured if he were to marry, it should be to someone suitable—someone exceptional and pleasing to the eye. Calliope happened to be that person.
"Think about it logically. Our genetics are both excellent. We would have incredibly brilliant and attractive children. Don't you want to give it a try with me? Or do you plan to stay with Silas, swallowing your pride and living in another woman's shadow? Even if you're willing to do that, are you sure he wants you there?"
Nigel continued, listing several potential scenarios, his tone analytical before concluding with absolute certainty, "I am the best match for you. I'll treat you exactly how you deserve to be treated. Anything Silas can give you, I can match. We're equals in standing, I'm arguably better looking, and my capabilities are on par with his. Tell me, what's not to like? Plus, I don't have some tragic old flame I'm still hung up on."
"If you're ever in trouble, I'll be the first one there to help you. What's wrong with that arrangement?" he muttered, almost to himself.
Calliope gave him a complicated look. "There are plenty of women more 'outstanding' than me in your circles. What makes you think I'm so special?"
"You're my type," Nigel stated simply. "From your looks to your fierceness, everything about you appeals to me. I just think you're the right fit."
"We've met a handful of times. How could you possibly know if I'm your type?" Calliope asked, finding the situation utterly ridiculous.
"Sometimes, one meeting is all it takes. Call it fate. You saved my life—that proves we're a good match. You're my lucky charm. So, what do you say? Will you consider me?"
Calliope looked at him, her lips twitching between amusement and annoyance. "Not a chance."

The readers' comments on the novel: A Reborn Bride Pearl Emerging from Dust
Oh wrestling expert ey? So is this Khamzat Chimaev or Shavkat Rakhmonov? Because Khabib's would be too haram....
Oh no. Million is just mix of Conor McGregor, Islam Makhachev, Mike Tyson, Max Holloway, Anderson Silva... I bet he lands 5sec flying knees like Jorge Masvidal too. Oh nope, 1sec knees. And has faster left hooks than Alex Pereira. Definitely would win UFC championship in every weight division including women. Poor Zhang Weili....
Okay so.... Million is now from East. Arctic wolf from East, modified genetically so he can manage his own Instagram and probably also box like Mike Tyson and snapping left hooks like Alex Pereira....
This is starting to be the same twister of abilities as Cassandra Yates and Tiffany. But question is, why the hell Silas can't just open his mouth and tell Caliope that she's the one whom he has in his heart. He would prevent a lot of misunderstanding. Seems like despite capability of talking with modified arctic wolf, she's not like telepathic....
Oh no, so FL is again another hidden genius with both hemispheres working on hundreds... Ffffuuuu. Cassandra Yates and Tiffany were already enough, ughugh. And Tiffany was even more exaggerated than Cassandra....
That's weird, in the first chapters there was said that her bio parents and bros doteď on Caliope but then they adopted Lisette, but this chapter suddenly says otherwise. Did author forget what he wrote?...
