Madison
Heat flooded my face. "Ethan is literally right outside."
"He's watching TV. He can't hear us." Alexander's smile was pure sin. "But you'll be thinking about it all day. What I'm going to do to you. How I'm going to make you come."
"Get out."
He laughed, deep and satisfied, before finally leaving the bedroom.
I heard him say goodbye to Ethan, his voice warm and affectionate. "Be good for your mom. I'll see you tonight."
"Okay, Dad! Bye!"
The front door opened and closed. Alexander was gone.
I sat on the edge of the bed, trying to calm my racing heart and the persistent ache between my legs. That man was going to drive me insane with want.
After a few minutes, I stood and headed back to the living room. Ethan was still glued to his cartoon, his small body sprawled across the couch cushions.
"Hey, baby." I sat beside him. "We're going to visit Aunt Hazel."
His eyes stayed on the screen. "Really?"
"Yeah. Want to see her?"
"Yes!" He finally looked at me, his face lighting up. "Can we go now?"
"Soon. Let me just pack a few things."
"What about Dad?"
"Dad went to the office. He has work to do." I ruffled his hair. "But he'll come pick us up from Hazel's apartment later."
Ethan's face fell slightly. "Oh. Okay."
"You'll see him tonight. I promise."
"Okay." He turned back to the TV, already distracted by the talking dogs.
I gathered our things quickly. Ethan's new dinosaur shirt, my phone, wallet. Nothing major since we'd be back tonight.
The cab ride to Hazel's apartment took twenty minutes. Ethan spent the entire time with his face pressed against the window.
The cab pulled up to Hazel's building. I paid the driver and helped Ethan out onto the sidewalk.
We rode the elevator up in comfortable silence, Ethan bouncing on his toes with excitement. The doors opened, and I led him down the familiar hallway to Hazel's apartment.
I knocked twice before the door swung open.
"Madison!" Hazel pulled me into a hug before crouching down to Ethan's level. "And look who it is! My favorite little man!"
"Aunt Hazel!" Ethan launched himself at her, wrapping his small arms around her neck.
She squeezed him tight before pulling back. "Did you have fun at your dad's place?"
"Yeah! We went to the park and watched movies, and Dad carried me on his back!" The words tumbled out in a rush. "And we had pancakes with chocolate chips!"
"That sounds amazing." Hazel stood, ruffling his hair. "Want to watch some TV while your mom and I talk?"
"Can I watch the robot show?"
"Whatever you want." She led him to the living room, turning on the television and flipping through channels until she found what he wanted. "We'll be in the bedroom if you need anything, okay?"
