Chapter 2 Watch Your Mouth
“Ah!”

Hannah was caught completely off guard and didn’t have time to react. Instinctively, she flailed her arms, grabbing at anything she could reach.
“Ah!”
She let out a scream. Isaac caught her, and her palm landed on his shoulder in shock.
“Isabella! What do you think you’re doing?!”
Isaac and Daniel shouted at the same time.
Isaac, especially, looked both shocked and furious.
He knew Isabella had been bullying Hannah every single day!
Well, there it was! Right in front of them, she dared to shove Hannah.
But before they could say anything else, Isabella folded her arms across her chest and said coldly, “I was showing you what it actually looks like when I push someone.”
She let out a mocking laugh and pulled Hannah over to the spot where she had fallen earlier. Her voice was icy as she continued, “Hannah, take a look at the marks on the floor. What’s going on here?
“Are these marks the same as the ones from when you fell earlier?
“Also, the hand you grabbed Isaac with just now–it was this one, right?”
Isabella shot a pointed look at Isaac’s right shoulder, then turned her gaze to the faint bloodstain on the left side of the floor, a smirk on her face.
“Sorry. Doesn’t match.”
Hannah was both shocked and furious.
Г
She hadn’t thought that far ahead. She had framed Isabella so many times before, and the other girl had never said a word.
It had never crossed her mind that Isabella had actually known she was being set up this whole time–and that she knew how to fight back. She just hadn’t spoken up until today.
Panic flickered across Hannah’s face.
She looked at Daniel and Isaac with wide, frightened eyes, like a cornered deer, and explained softly, “I… at the time, I was just really startled when my sister accidentally-
“I fell on my own.
“It had nothing to do with my sister.

“Isaac, Dad, I didn’t explain it right.
“I’m sorry.”
She held back her tears, looking utterly pitiful
Isaac glanced at her, opened his mouth as if to say something, but eventually stopped himself.
Across from them, Daniel frowned, then said in a low voice, “Alright. Go upstairs.”
Truthfully, both of them understood what was going on in Hannah’s head. But considering how much unease Isabella’s arrival had brought her, they couldn’t bring themselves to blame her.
Hannah left with tears in her eyes.
Isabella sneered and turned to leave as well.
Just then, Isaac said flatly, “Hannah’s shy and sensitive. She didn’t mean to target you.
“From now on, try to keep your distance from her. Don’t provoke her.”
Hearing that, Isabella let out a laugh of disbelief.
She turned back to him, her voice icy with suppressed anger, and spoke directly to his face, “If she’s that delicate and easily hurt, then tell her to stay far away from me. Tell her to keep her distance, mind her own business, and not go out of her way to provoke me. And tell her not to show her face in front of me ever again.
“Because if she does, I won’t be held responsible for what happens next.
“I’ve already put up with more than enough.
“And don’t you dare act like you’re my brother.
“Who exactly do you think you are? I was raised in the countryside, not by the Powell family. You have no authority over me.
“Next time, save those lectures and that overprotective attitude for Hannah, okay?
“After all, she’s the precious little sister you’ve always doted on.”
Her face was cold as she disappeared down the hallway without looking back.
What a jerk.
Hannah doesn’t mean to target me?
So did the original owner mean to let herself be targeted?
Stay away from Hannah?
Yeah, right.

Who did he think he was, acting like he was in charge?
What right did he have to tell her what to do?
If Hannah dared to cause trouble in front of her, she’d beat her senseless.
After Isabella left, Isaac’s face turned green with anger.
He gritted his teeth and said to Daniel, “Dad, did you see her? How rude can you get? Back then-”
He bit his lip and stopped himself before finishing the sentence.
Daniel frowned, clearly annoyed as well. “Enough! She’s your sister. What’s the point of arguing?”
But deep down, Daniel was just as frustrated.
Isabella’s kidnapping back then had been one of the biggest stains on their family.
When they found out that Isabella had been taken to some rural area and had barely even set foot outside, they felt like their world had collapsed.
The Powell family’s long–lost eldest daughter had grown up a country girl who could barely read or write.
When they went to pick her up and saw that thin, scrawny girl in that filthy, miserable environment, they nearly passed out.
They had rushed to bring her back to Powell Villa. Later, they hired people to coach her and work on her
appearance.
But after all, she hadn’t grown up in the Powell household. She hadn’t received a proper elite education or been raised with privilege. There was always something rough around the edges about her, and she was always timid, never able to present herself well.
Isaac had tried to teach her a few times, and it had driven him up the wall.
Worst of all, she had no sense of what it meant to be the Powell family’s eldest daughter. She was always doing strange things and making people laugh.
r
Thinking about having a sister like that from now on, Isaac felt nothing but frustration.
Maybe they shouldn’t have brought her back at all.
Sometimes, that thought crept into his head.
He said coldly, “Grandpa asked when we’re holding the official debut for her.”
The debut was meant to introduce Isabella to the entire high society of Caporia, making it clear that she was the legitimate eldest daughter of the Powell family.
Without it, her status would never be recognized.
People who didn’t know might think Isabella was some illegitimate child of the Powell family.

“We’ll wait a bit longer.”
At the thought of that, Daniel’s expression soured.
How could Isabella be presented to the public now?
If they introduced her like this, the Powell family would be a complete embarrassment.
His voice was cold as he asked, “What about Westbrook Academy? Have you talked to them yet? Will they let her enroll?”
Back in the countryside, Isabella hadn’t even finished middle school. Her adoptive parents had been uneducated and had died young, leaving her to live with her grandmother.
By the time the Powell family came to pick her up, her grandmother had passed away too. Isabella had been completely on her own, getting up early and working late just to get by, already out in the fields at a
young age.
Daniel frowned and said, “If Westbrook says no, then we’ll send her to Northwood High.
“But nothing lower than that.
“The Powell family can’t afford that kind of embarrassment.”
Northwood High was a step down from Westbrook Academy. It was still a school where plenty of upper- class kids enrolled.
But a lot of them were rich kids just goofing off–it was a real mixed bag.
If possible, Daniel didn’t want Isabella going to a place like that.
She was already like this. What if she came back with even worse habits?
How much more humiliation could the Powell family take?\
So he would much rather pull strings to get her into Westbrook Academy, the top–tier private school for the elite.
