Sierra wasn't sure how to react when she heard what Madison said. So, she hurriedly clarified the situation.
Madison's appetite grew larger once she knew exactly what went down between Benson and Sophie. After all, gossip went well with meals.
However, her grin faded when she recalled how hopelessly in love Sierra was with Benson. "Cee, not only was he mean to you, but he even impregnated another lady. He is not reliable in the least bit. You shouldn't feel heartbroken over him."
Sierra noticed that Madison had misunderstood the situation. She chuckled and shook her head before looking at the overhead lighting. Her voice was soft and delicate when she spoke.
"I'm not sad because Benson has a baby with another lady. Instead, it's because I suddenly realized that I don't understand him at all. He was no longer the brave and selfless person he used to be."
The man Sierra had loved turned out to be very different from what she imagined him to be. Madison could relate to it, and she immediately hugged Sierra.
"He doesn't deserve your love. I'm sure you'll find someone better, Cee."
Both of them embraced each other before going back to snacking and baring their souls.
The next day, Madison took Sierra to campus. "Give it your best, Piano Queen!"
Sierra gave her a playful glare before she walked into campus with a smile.
Word spread around that Janice and Felicia used public opinion to force Sierra into giving up the competition. As they walked on campus, everyone who saw them kept pointing at them and muttered under their breaths.
Both of them couldn't stand the gossip and decided to hide in the classroom.
Sierra felt a little curious when she noticed that there was a touch of compassion in everyone's eyes as they looked at her. She didn't realize the reason behind it until after Jemima apologized for Janice's wrongdoings.
It was around 3:00 pm by the time Sierra left campus. She stood at the side of the road and was about to hail a cab when a black car stopped next to her.
"Get in, Sierra." The car window was lowered, and Theo's chiseled and stunning face was revealed.
Sierra did as he said and relaxed. Then, she nodded obediently.
Theo felt an urge to touch her head when he noticed how her hair moved as she nodded. At the thought of it, he rested his head on her head.
"Attagirl." His voice was deep and loving. Top that off with his actions, Sierra felt so shy that she couldn't lift her head. She had a feeling that he was getting increasingly immature.
"How about I give you a ride home?" Theo finally withdrew his hand when her body temperature rose and her face turned completely red.
Meanwhile, Adrian held his breath. He was worried that his breathing sound might shatter their lovey-dovey moment.
It might've looked like he was looking straight ahead, but he had actually been staring at the rearview mirror out of the corner of his eyes. He noticed Sierra's reaction and couldn't help but sigh internally.
Sierra's cheeks would've been as red as a tomato's if Theo had withdrawn his hand a little later.
