A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo) novel Chapter 255

The minute Adrian saw Sierra nodding, he slammed on the gas pedal without waiting for Theo's order. The car immediately tore through the street like a loose cannon.

The strong force from acceleration made Sierra fall forward. Just as she was about to hit the back of the front seat, a firm arm shielded her.

When she realized what was happening, she hurriedly withdrew her hands, which were gripping his arm. Her eyes were teary, and she dared not look at the man sitting next to her.

"You can quit your job today if you can't even drive properly." Theo cast an icy glance at Adrian.

Now that he had been warned, Adrian didn't dare to do anything reckless anymore. From that point on, he made sure the car cruised along the road steadily.

"Is your left shoulder still hurting?" Theo noticed how uneasy Sierra was, and he took the initiative to talk about something else.

She shook her head and looked at his right shoulder. "What about you?"

Theo wore a black shirt and had buttoned it all the way to the top today. There was an emerald cufflink on each cuff too. It must've been a little hot in the car because he raised his hand and undid the top two buttons, revealing his clavicle.

Sierra glanced at it for a second before she quickly turned her gaze away.

"It's fine now." Then, Theo noticed that her head was lowered, and her shoulders were trembling. His expression darkened slightly because he thought she was sobbing.

Just as he was about to ask her about it, Sierra raised her head, revealing a brilliant smile.

"Fate has a funny way of bringing us together, Theo." She pointed at her left shoulder and his right shoulder.

Theo relaxed, and a hint of amusement flashed in his eyes. He responded deliberately, "You're right. Fate did bring us together."

She continued to giggle in a silly way, not noticing the subtext in his response.

"You promised to marry me. Does that still count?" Theo suddenly asked after she stopped smiling.

Sierra immediately looked a little uneasy, but she did her best to nod casually and responded, "It does, but you'll have to give me some time."

Theo could see how unusual her behavior was, and he didn't press her. Instead, he asked her about the things that happened on campus.

When the car eventually stopped, Theo watched as Sierra went into her place. Once the car window was raised, he said to Adrian, "I assigned a bodyguard to Sierra. Have him talk to me."

Once they returned to the company, Adrian saw that Lyonel was waiting for him outside his office.

It was Sunday, and Sierra got a call from Theo as soon as she woke up.

"Are you free today?"

She brushed her teeth in front of a mirror and responded indistinctly, "I am."

A hint of amusement flashed in Theo's eyes, and his melodic voice sounded off again. "Come down once you're done freshening up. I'm taking you to a place."

Although Sierra was curious, she didn't ask about it. 40 minutes later, she came downstairs, wearing a white dress.

Theo was immediately thrilled when he saw how youthful and full of life she was. He said without any reservation, "You look gorgeous."

Sierra felt a little shy when she heard the unexpected compliment. "Have I kept you waiting for a long time? Why didn't you wake me up earlier?"

Theo brushed her tousled hair and responded softly, "It's okay. I can wait for you."

Sierra blushed, but she didn't duck out of the way. She didn't ask until they got into the car, "Where are we going, Theo?"
