A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo) novel Chapter 263

Otherwise, why was Sophie's so-called "rival" the one making the call instead of Benson?

For a moment, she was stunned. But as soon as she processed the situation, she scrambled to gather her things.

This was her best chance to marry into the Gray family—she couldn't afford to let anything go wrong.

As the Gray family waited for Sophie's arrival, Theo gently pulled Sierra to sit beside Edward.

"You and I are husband and wife now. We share the same status. You need to start getting used to it," he reminded her.

Sierra hesitated, sneaking a glance at Edward.

His expectant gaze made her nervous. She opened her mouth to speak but found herself at a loss for words. Embarrassed, she quickly shut her eyes.

To her surprise, Edward didn't look the least bit displeased. Instead, he burst into hearty laughter.

A hint of amusement flickered in Theo's eyes as well. Without hesitation, he pulled Sierra into his embrace, his hand gently stroking the back of her head.

Sierra's face burned with embarrassment. Edward's teasing laughter only made it worse—she wished she could vanish right there and then.

However, despite her earlier resistance, she had gradually grown accustomed to Theo's presence.

Instead of pulling away, she instinctively leaned further into his chest.

Watching this, Benson's eyes turned bloodshot. His hands clenched into fists, nails digging into his palms.

"Cee…" He muttered hoarsely, his voice filled with pain and regret.

Janet, however, had no time to comfort him. Her mind was elsewhere, preoccupied with one urgent thought—how to get rid of Sophie.

Sophie stood outside Gray Manor, anticipation and confidence shining in her eyes. Taking a deep breath, she steadied herself before pressing the doorbell.

As she stepped inside, draped in a loose, light blue dress, Janet's piercing gaze immediately locked onto her.

"Benson, I finally get to see you!" Sophie called out as she looked at him, her eyes brimming with tears.

Unimpressed by the display, Janet let out a disdainful scoff.

"Cut the act! My son broke up with you ages ago. And let's not even start on whether you're actually pregnant.

"Even if you are, how do we know it's Benson's?

"If you could seduce him once, you could just as easily seduce another man. Do you really think carrying some bastard child will get you into our family? Dream on!"

Sophie's face turned pale with disbelief, tears streaming down her face as she looked at Benson with pleading eyes.

"Benson, I swear, I've only been with you. I really am pregnant."

Edward watched the unfolding drama in silence, his disappointment in Benson growing with every passing second.

Janet, however, was far from done. The more she looked at Sophie, the more disgusted she became. She stepped forward, positioning herself between Benson and Sophie, effectively blocking her view of him.

"Oh? You expect us to believe Benson is the only man you've been with? Spare me the act. I've seen plenty of women like you—chasing after any rich man in sight. Who knows how many men you've been with before? Now, get out!"

Sophie's body trembled as she sobbed, but she didn't budge.

Now that she had set foot in the Gray residence, she wasn't about to leave empty-handed.
