The King Of Warriors novel (Jared Chance) novel Chapter 6528

The Azure Cloud Sword Order’s sword adepts were even more in their element.

Cloudspire’s Thousandfold Sword-Crown Array erupted at full force.

Thousands of flying swords hanging in the air came crashing down like a storm, ripping the ranks of Pole Star Hall into pieces.

The sword rain was so dense it felt suffocating.

Every single blade carried the Azure Cloud Sword Order’s own sword aura, unmatched in sharpness.

The cultivators of Pole Star Hall threw up their shields to block, but the flying swords were falling from every direction.

There was nowhere to dodge.

Wave after wave of sword rain crashed down, each one thicker than the last, punching countless holes through Pole Star Hall’s defense line.

On the outer edge of the battlefield, the array masters of the Myriad Arts Order kept the pressure on.

The wards they had laid down spread over the field like a vast invisible net, tightening and tightening.

A warding veil compressed inward from one side, driving Pole Star Hall’s cultivators straight toward the trap that had been prepared for them.

They also kept sealing off Pole Star Hall’s retreat with spell after spell.

Every escape route had been planted with spirit-burst charges and kill traps.

Several Pole Star Hall elders tried to break out. The moment they cleared the encirclement, they stepped right into a ward trap.

The flagstones underfoot suddenly gave way, opening into bottomless vertical shafts. At the base waited poisoned spikes.

Screams rose from the darkness below—then cut off all at once.

Pole Star Hall’s casualties began to spike.

Without the cover of the Shrouded Wood, and without wards getting in their way, Pole Star Hall finally had to meet them head-on.

And in a direct clash, Beastmoor Ridge’s 2 thousand cultivators, backed by terrain and formation, were actually beating back Pole Star Hall’s 2.2 thousand.

The cultivators of Pole Star Hall kept giving ground.

Their formation was being squeezed smaller and smaller, driven from the square before the gatehouse all the way to the edge of the square.

One more retreat, and they would be pushed back into the Shrouded Wood.

Starwick felt his subordinates collapsing.

He wanted to break away and reinforce them, but every time he tried to shake free of Jared, a streak of violet blade-flare forced him right back.

Jared might have been only at True Immortal Realm Level Seven, but his chaotic force was far too strange.

Every time sword energy slammed into holy radiance, the chaos-flame devoured part of it. With each exchange, one side rose as the other was worn down, and Starwick’s spiritual power was draining far faster than he had expected.

And then it got worse.

Master Wellspring, Cloudspire, and the Grand Elder of the Myriad Arts Order all freed up their hands and closed in on Starwick’s gold-armored guards from three directions at once.

Master Wellspring cut one gold-armored guard’s right arm clean off with a single strike.

The guard staggered back screaming, blood blasting from the stump like a fountain.

Cloudspire’s flying swords punched through another guard’s armor like driving rain, leaving dozens of bloody holes across his body.

The Grand Elder of the Myriad Arts Order trapped a third guard inside a warped stretch of space.

The guard thrashed desperately inside it, but the twisted space wrenched his limbs around and around until his body looked like it had been twisted into a rope.

The gold-armored guards were all peak True Immortal Realm Level Nine experts, but under the combined assault of those three top masters, they were being slaughtered.

The few guards who remained started pulling their line inward, pressing tight around Starwick’s war-chariot and not daring to stray.

Starwick’s face went iron-hard.

While parrying Jared’s sword energy, he twisted around and roared toward both flanks, "Master Glacier! Palace Master of Saintspire Court! How much longer are you going to stand there and watch? Move!"

Venerable Glacier stood atop the Glacier Chariot, the ice-blue robes on his body utterly still.

He glanced at the battle raging across the square, then looked at Venerable Clarendon.

Clarendon was already looking back at him, that unreadable smile still hanging at the corner of his mouth.

Their eyes met for a brief moment.

Then they both turned and looked at Starwick.

"Hall Master of Pole Star Hall."

Venerable Glacier’s voice was cold as age-old black ice. "Wasn’t this our agreement? You take the lead, and we support you. But now you haven’t even broken in yet, and you already want us to step in. That’s not what we agreed to."
