...
The entrance to the Nineteenth Firmament lay in the far north of the Eighteenth.
To pass through, one had to cross an enormous spatial fissure.
That fissure was wildly unstable. Spatial turbulence churned around it in violent waves. Cultivators below Golden Immortal Level Three could not even approach. If they did, the turbulence would shred them.
Jared and Gwendolyn were different.
Jared had chaotic force.
Chaotic force was the origin of all elements and all laws. In front of it, even the laws of space had to obey.
Gwendolyn had the Frost God's power. It was not as domineering as chaotic force, but it was strong enough to hold back the erosion of spatial turbulence.
They landed on the ice plains of the far north.
Moonlight spread silver over the frozen land.
The spatial fissure hung in the air like an opened eye. From within came roaring turbulence, loud enough to shake the ears.
Jared studied the fissure calmly.
"Ready?"
Gwendolyn nodded, determination lighting her icy-blue eyes.
"Ready."
Jared tightened his grip on her hand.
They lifted into the air together and flew straight toward the fissure.
The spatial turbulence rushed for them, trying to tear them apart. Gray light burst from Jared and wrapped around them both.
Before chaotic force, the violent turbulence turned docile and harmless, like sheep before a wolf.
It did not dare touch them.
They passed through the spatial fissure and entered the Nineteenth Firmament.
Dense spiritual essence hit them at once.
It was several times thicker than in the Eighteenth Firmament.
The sky here was deep blue. The sun was larger and brighter, scattering golden light across the world until the land seemed washed clean.
Far away, mountains rolled endlessly into the horizon. Their peaks pierced the clouds. Spiritual trees covered the slopes, heavy with many-colored spirit fruit that glittered in the sunlight.
A great river flowed out from the mountains. The water was clear enough to see the bottom, where spirit fish swam in groups, each one carrying a faint glow of spiritual essence.
It was a true blessed land.
Jared drew a deep breath and looked ahead.
The Nineteenth Firmament.
He had arrived.
Josephine, wait for him.
...
At the same time, in the Golden Crow clan's territory, Corvin Skyreach suddenly opened his eyes.
Cold light flashed through the red-gold depths.
His spirit sense had caught an unfamiliar aura entering the Nineteenth Firmament.
That aura carried a power he had never seen before.
Deep as an abyss.
Heavy as a mountain.
Oppressive enough to make the heart tighten.
Chaotic force.
A cold smile touched Corvin's lips.
"Jared, you finally came."
He stood. His scarlet-gold robe flashed under the lights, and his aura surged like a volcano about to erupt.
"Send the order. Jared has entered the Nineteenth Firmament. Every clan is to dispatch scouts at once. Find him."
"Yes!"
A cultivator of the Golden Crow clan dropped to one knee, his voice full of killing intent.
