The King Of Warriors novel (Jared Chance) novel Chapter 6589

Inside the void rift, spatial turbulence howled like countless enraged black dragons.

Black spatial power condensed into tangible blades and shot wildly through the rift.

Every one of them carried enough force to tear a Golden Immortal cultivator to pieces.

The instant Jared stepped inside, those spatial blades turned on him like sharks scenting blood, rushing him from every direction.

He didn't dodge.

Chaotic force condensed over his skin into a violet barrier.

The spatial blades struck it with a shrill metallic screech, then melted away in silence, like snow under a blazing sun, without raising so much as a ripple.

Chaotic force was the source of all elements.

Spatial power was no exception.

Before chaos, even the most violent spatial turbulence was nothing more than a trickle returning to its source.

Jared kept walking, one step at a time, deeper into the rift.

And the deeper he went, the more savage the spatial turbulence became.

At first, only scattered blades came at him.

After roughly 300 yards, the scattered strikes thickened into a dense rain of blades, pouring down on him from every direction.

Deeper in, even that blade-rain turned into a storm.

Black spatial power twisted around him into a massive vortex, packed with enough destructive force to tear a Golden Immortal Realm Level Five cultivator to pieces.

Hairline cracks began to creep across Jared's barrier.

His brows tightened.

He poured more chaotic force into the barrier, and the cracks sealed almost at once.

The shield thickened, growing visibly more solid.

But the chaotic force was draining far faster than he'd expected.

At this rate, he could hold out for half an hour at most.

Within that half hour, he had to find the end of the passage.

If he didn't, the spatial turbulence would swallow him whole.

Jared picked up speed.

The depths of the fissure were pitch-black.

Only the occasional spatial crack flashed with eerie light, briefly revealing the path ahead.

The light pulsed bright, then dim, throwing the inside of the fissure into a vision straight out of hell.

Warped space. Shattered laws. Broken boulders hanging in midair. Fragments of ancient relics scattered everywhere.

A faint ancient aura still clung to those relic fragments, proof that a world-shaking battle had once erupted here.

After another quarter hour of pushing forward, a light suddenly appeared in the darkness ahead.

It was a silver-white gate, about 30 yards tall and 15 yards wide.

Its frame was carved with dense ancient runes that drifted slowly through the glow, as if the whole thing were breathing.

Beyond that gate lay the Ancient Battlefield.

Jared lunged forward and charged straight for it.

Then, when he was less than 30 yards away, the spatial turbulence around him suddenly surged several times over.

The black spatial power condensed into a gigantic hand and slammed toward him.

The force packed inside that strike was enough to flatten a Golden Immortal Realm Level Five cultivator into pulp.

If it hit, even if Jared survived, he'd be left badly wounded.

He didn't retreat.

The Dragonslayer Sword came free.

Purple sword energy gathered along the blade.

He slashed, meeting that enormous hand head-on.

"Boom..."

Violet chaotic force and black spatial power tore at each other in a frenzy at the point of impact, unleashing a deafening explosion.

The shockwave blasted outward in all directions, scattering the surrounding spatial turbulence.

The giant hand split apart under that one strike, breaking into countless tiny spatial fragments that drifted through the air.

Using the recoil from his slash, Jared shot forward in a blur and plunged into the silver-white gate.

He found no sign of life.

But he did sense plenty of powerful auras.

They weren't alive. They were deadβ€”obsessions left behind by ancient powerhouses, still clinging to their bones after falling here.

After countless ages, those lingering wills had fused with this land itself.

They had become part of the battlefield.

If anything disturbed them, they would wake.

And once they woke, they would attack any intruder.

Jared pulled back his spirit sense and looked around.

He was standing in a relatively flat basin.

Low hills ringed it on all sides, bare and stripped clean, without a single blade of grass.

A dried-up riverbed cut through the middle of the basin, choked with gray-white gravel and bone dust.

This looked nothing like the Ancient Battlefield he had seen in the Voidreach.

The battlefield there had felt older, emptier, more worn away by time.

But at least it still had a sky. It still had a sun. It still had wind.

Here, there was nothing.

Only endless gray. Endless silence.

Just as Jared was about to start exploring, the silver-white gate behind him flashed again.

Then a dozen or so figures shot out of it.

Cedric led them, with more than a dozen elite cultivators from the Abyssal Exchange at his back.

Every one of them looked pale, as if crossing the void passage had burned through a huge amount of spiritual power.

The moment Cedric saw Jared, a glint lit his eyes, and he strode over at once.

"Mr. Chance, that was incredible."

Excitement leaked into his voice no matter how he tried to hide it. "I saw that black hand strike at you from outside the passage, and I thought you were finished... I never expected you to shatter it with a single sword strike. Impressive. Truly impressive."

Jared glanced at him and said nothing.
