The King Of Warriors novel (Jared Chance) novel Chapter 6701

Jared raised one hand. Chaotic force poured from his palm, the gray light flowing like liquid mercury as it spread over the young woman and Della.

It settled around them like an invisible veil, completely concealing their demonic aura.

A moment later, their presence had changed entirely. They now looked like ordinary human cultivators, one at Level Five Golden Immortal and the other at Level Four. Nothing about them stood out.

The young woman stared at her hands in amazement. Gray light drifted over her skin like a thin film of flowing water.

"This... this is incredible. I really can't sense any demonic aura anymore."

"The concealment buys us about four hours," Jared warned. "After that, I have to renew it. Move."

He led everyone out through the inn's rear entrance and moved quickly through the alleys, doing his best to avoid the celestial cultivators searching the main streets for Demonic Cultivators.

The chaos outside had not stopped. Screams and sounds of battle rose one after another, but Jared's group moved quickly, and with the demonic aura concealed, the celestial patrols did not notice them.

Several twisting back alleys and two avoided patrols later, the group slipped out of Starfall City by the south gate.

Not long after leaving the city, however, fierce fighting erupted from a stretch of wilderness ahead.

The clash of blades, explosive techniques, and heavy breathing mixed together. The air carried the fresh scent of blood.

Jared stopped.

His spirit sense stretched forward, and what he saw made his brows tighten slightly.

More than a dozen human cultivators were attacking a similar number of Demonic Cultivators.

The humans wore robes of different colors and held gleaming artifacts. Greed and excitement covered their faces.

Inside the encirclement were Demonic Cultivators of every age and gender. Nearly all bore fresh wounds.

They were desperately protecting a burly middle-aged man in the center as they tried to break through. His features were hard and resolute, and he was a Level Seven Golden Immortal.

Blood covered him from head to toe. A broken black saber remained clutched in his hand as he used his own body to block attacks aimed at the relatives behind him.

A wound on one leg was deep enough to expose bone. Every step clearly sent pain through him, yet he never retreated.

Then the young woman and Della saw him too.

All color drained from the young woman's face. Her eyes widened, and her lips moved several times before she managed one word.

"Father..."

Della burst into tears.

"Dad! That's Dad!"

The young woman seized Jared's sleeve. Tears flooded her eyes and ran down her cheeks, dripping onto the fabric.

"Please... please save my father! I'll do anything! Please! I'll serve you for the rest of my life if I have to. Just save him! Please!"

Jared held her desperate gaze for a beat before looking past her to the doomed cluster of Demonic Cultivators ahead.

They were already close to collapsing. Two more fell, and several fresh wounds appeared on the middle-aged man's body.

The purple in Jared's eyes hardened to ice.

"Wait here."

There was no urgency in Jared's tone, only a quiet certainty strong enough to steady the people behind him.

"I'll handle it."

He stepped toward the battlefield.

Wind caught Jared's gray robe as he advanced. Without a sound, he drew the Dragonslayer Sword, and a mercury-like sheen of purple light ran over its edge.

Gwendolyn and Master Veridian followed behind him, one on either side, like a pair of wings spreading open.

The human cultivators soon noticed them.

Then they saw Gwendolyn and Master Veridianβ€”two Level Eight Golden Immortals.

The greed on their faces froze instantly, as if someone had dumped a bucket of ice water over their heads.

Their leader was a Level Seven Golden Immortal holding a blood-red saber. His gaze moved warily over Jared's group, testing them.

"These Demonic Cultivators are our catch," the man warned. "If you're here for a share, follow the usual rules. Everyone's trying to earn something out here, so don't take the whole pot."
