Chapter 458
Chapter 458
ALEXANDER
I hadn’t realized when exhaustion finally caught up to me..
One moment, I had been sitting behind my desk, staring into space, mentally going over tomorrow’s plan for what felt like the hundredth time, and the next-
A howl ripped through the night.
My eyes snapped open instantly.
Every muscle in my body tightened as I jerked upright in the chair.
The sound echoed through the territory again.
Aiden surged awake immediately.
“Alpha.”
125 Ponts
Aiden’s voice came sharp inside my head, carrying the unmistakable edge of challenge beneath it.
I was already standing before the sound fully faded into the night.
My pulse had quickened automatically now.
Because I knew that howl.
Not the wolf itself.
But what it was.
There was no mistaking the energy behind it.
That was an alpha howl.
My jaw tightened as I stared toward the dark windows of my office.
How the hell was another alpha howling inside my territory?
I had no visiting alpha in Blood Crescent.
And even if I did, any experienced alpha would have known better than to release a territorial howl inside another alpha’s land.
That kind of thing could easily be interpreted as provocation.
Challenge.

Or worse-
An invasion.
Aiden stirred restlessly beneath my skin.
“Find him.”
The challenge in his tone sharpened further.
I frowned slightly.
Something about the howl felt strange.
Not weak.
Definitely not weak.
But there was something raw about it.
Uncontrolled, almost.
Like instinct rather than intention.
Still…
That changed nothing.
Another alpha was inside my territory.
And I had no explanation for it.
Just then, the office door suddenly opened.
Cole stepped inside quickly, already alert.
The moment his eyes landed on me, he asked immediately,
“Did you hear that?”
I gave a single nod.
Cole’s expression hardened instantly.
“That was an alpha.”

I didn’t respond immediately because my mind was already running through possibilities.
Stonevale?
No.

If Darren was stupid enough to make a move now, he wouldn’t dare come himself.
Would he?
And how had another alpha gotten this far inside my borders without being noticed?
My warriors patrolled these lands constantly.
Especially now.
Aiden’s irritation pressed harder inside me.
Another alpha was inside our territory.
That alone was enough to trigger every territorial instinct we possessed.
Cole looked toward the windows briefly before looking back at me.
“You think we’ve been breached?”
The possibility alone made my expression darken slightly.
But the truth was-
I didn’t know.
And I hated not knowing.
Because if someone had penetrated Blood Crescent territory this deeply without detection, then something had already gone wrong.
I moved around the desk immediately.
I didn’t waste time trying to force the answers together.
Not now.
We could figure out how later.
Right now, we needed to locate whoever the hell was out there.
Fast.
Cole and I exited the office quickly.
THIRD POV
The tension in the yard had already reached dangerous levels by the time Alexander stepped fully outside.

Chapter 458
Warriors were gathering rapidly beneath the night sky, their voices low and urgent as instincts spread unease through the territory. Several wolves were already shifting near the gates while others waited for direct orders.
Another howl echoed faintly from deep within the woods.
The sound carried through the cold air like a challenge thrown directly at Blood Crescent itself.
Aiden immediately surged harder beneath Alexander’s skin again.
Alpha.
Alexander’s jaw tightened.
Without wasting another second, he grabbed the hem of his shirt and pulled it over his head in one swift motion before tossing it toward Cole.
Cole caught it automatically.
“Alpha…” Cole began.
But Alexander was already shifting.
The transformation ripped through him violently and fast.
Bones cracked sharply beneath skin.
Muscles expanded.
Gold eyes glowed brighter in the darkness.
And within seconds, the massive black wolf landed heavily against the ground before immediately launching forward.
Aiden tore through the territory at full speed.
The forest blurred around him as he pushed deeper into the woods, moving with frightening precision between the trees.
The scent hit him before anything else did.
Aiden focused harder immediately.
The distant sounds of movement reached him next
Growls, snapping branches.
Some of Blood Crescent’s wolves had already reached the source first.
Alexander increased speed instantly.

Chapter 458
The deeper he moved into the woods, the thicker the tension became.
Every instinct inside him remained fully alert now.
Ready for attack.
Ready for challenge.
Because alpha howls were not small matters.
They triggered instinctive reactions from every wolf within hearing distance.
And if another alpha truly stood inside Blood Crescent territory tonight-there was a huge chance he came with his warriors.
Things could turn violent very quickly.
Aiden remained cold and focused.
The scent strengthened suddenly.
Aiden burst through the final line of trees and immediately slowed.
Several of Blood Crescent’s wolves had already formed a wide circle around another wolf deeper
within the clearing.
Growls rumbled low through the air.
They were ready to attack.
The strange wolf stood near the center of the clearing, thrashing around restlessly as it realized it was surrounded.
Its breathing sounded uneven.
Sharp.
Almost panicked.
One of Alexander’s wolves moved slightly forward with teeth bared, preparing to lunge-
But immediately stopped the second Aiden entered the clearing.
Every wolf there felt it instantly.
Their Alpha had arrived.
And without Alexander’s command-
None of them could move first.

The clearing became strangely still after that.
Only the sounds of heavy breathing and rustling leaves remained.
Aiden stepped forward slowly.
Massive paws pressed against the forest ground with controlled dominance as he walked past his warriors.
The others immediately lowered themselves slightly in instinctive submission as he passed.
Aiden’s attention remained fully locked on the strange wolf now.
The wolf jerked again the moment Aiden drew closer.
Not aggressively.
Almost… frantically.
Aiden began circling it carefully.
Watching.
The wolf was large.
Bigger than ordinary wolves.
Strong build too.
But something immediately felt wrong.
The posture lacked control.
The movements were unstable.
Not threatening.
The wolf let out another strange sound suddenly.
Not a growl.
Not exactly.
It sounded rough.
Pained, almost… like it was hurt.
Alexander’s wolf narrowed his glowing eyes slightly.
Confusion slowly replaced some of the aggression inside him.

Because this-
This did not feel like a calculated intruder.
The wolf continued shifting restlessly where it stood, gold eyes darting wildly toward the surrounding wolves as if overwhelmed by everything happening around it.
Its chest rose and fell rapidly.
Breathing too fast.
Too erratic.
Aiden’s instincts remained alert, but now there was hesitation mixed into them.
Because if this truly was the same wolf that released that alpha howl-
Then something was off.
Very off.
This wolf didn’t look dominant.
Didn’t look territorial.
Didn’t even fully look aware of itself.
It looked terrified.
And the sounds coming from it now-
Those strange, uneven noises-
Almost sounded like panic.
