Chapter 531-2
“Good,” Helen said with satisfaction. “That’s exactly what I wanted to hear.”
A comfortable silence settled between us before she spoke once more.
“Now both of you should go back to sleep,” Helen said. “It’s very late.”
“Goodnight, Mom,” I said.
“Goodnight, Helen,” Faye added softly.
“Goodnight,” Helen replied. “I’ll see you both next week.”
The call ended, and the room fell silent once again.

The moment the call ended, silence settled over the bedroom once again.
Alexander slowly lowered his phone onto the bedside table without saying anything. His expression was thoughtful, but I could tell his mind was still turning over everything that had just happened.
I looked at him for a few seconds before finally breaking the silence.
“Your mother is planning a family get–together?” I asked.
It wasn’t really a question.
I was trying to understand why he didn’t seem more concerned about that than he was.
Alexander looked up at me.
“What about it?” Alexander asked.
I frowned slightly.
“Doesn’t that strike you as strange?” I asked.
He remained quiet, waiting for me to continue.
I shifted so that I was facing him fully.
“Helen has never organized something like this since I met her,” I said. “Not just because she wanted
everyone together.”
I paused for a moment before continuing.
“You’re not buying that whole ‘I’m fine‘ speech, are you?” I asked.
Alexander didn’t answer immediately.

Leould see him thinking.
I continued before he could speak.

“Even if we forget everything else,” I said, “the family gathering alone is enough to make me suspicious.”
I held his gaze.
“It came out of nowhere. There wasn’t any special occasion. She just suddenly decided she wanted
everyone together,” I said.
I shook my head slowly.
“That doesn’t feel random to me,” I added.
Alexander remained silent.
His eyes drifted toward the floor as though he were replaying the conversation in his head.
For several long seconds, he didn’t say a single word.
Watching him like that only made my heart sink further.
I knew that look.
He was putting the pieces together.
I let out a quiet sigh.
“I really hope I’m wrong,” I admitted softly.
“I hope this is all just me overthinking because of that dream.”
I looked down at my hands.
“But if I’m not…”
The words caught in my throat.
I forced myself to continue.
“I think we need to convince Helen to get help,” i said.
Alexander finally looked back at me.
I could see the concern in his eyes now.
“She may honestly believe she’s alright,” I continued. “People do that all the time. They convince themselves they’re healthy because they don’t feel seriously ill.”
I shook my head gently.
“But sometimes… sometimes something is wrong long before they realize it themselves. And that’s exactly why they need someone else to step in,” I said.
Chapter 5317
Hooked directly at him.
“If Helen keeps assuming she’s fine simply because she feels fine…”
I paused briefly.
“…then she might ignore something that shouldn’t be ignored.”
Alexander remained quiet.
He still hadn’t offered an argument.
