Chapter 587
THIRD POV
For several moments, no one spoke after Jason’s declaration.
The confidence in his voice did little to ease the concern inside the council chamber. In a normal situation, such confidence might be a good way to encourage the pack.
But this was way beyond the need for encouragement. This situation required immediate
action.
Everyone present understood what he was refusing to say. They knew that even Jason
himself didn’t believe his own statement.
This was not the time for Silver Hollow to stand alone. Silver Hollow needed help.
The only question was whether Jason was willing to accept it.
Elder Vincent leaned forward slightly, his face looking too calm for the level of annoyance was feeling at the moment.
“Alpha Jason.”
Jason looked toward him.
Vincent held his gaze.
“I do not understand why you do not want to ask Blood Crescent for assistance.”
A brief silence followed.
“I understand that you might have a personal issue with Alpha Alexander, but this is not about what we want. This is not about your personal life.”
The words immediately caught Jason’s attention.
“Watch your mouth, Vincent.”
Vincent continued.
“Apologies. But this is about what Silver Hollow needs.”
Jason’s expression hardened slightly, but he said nothing.
Vincent glanced around the chamber.

“We cannot continue pretending that we still have the same support we had before.”
The truth was uncomfortable, but everyone knew it.
“Silver Hollow has lost most of its allies. Do we need to keep reminding ourselves about
that?”
No one argued.
“And the other packs that once supported us?”
Vincent shook his head.
“They have already begun distancing themselves to avoid being dragged down with us.”
He paused.
“They see the instability. No one wants to associate with a sinking ship.”
Garrick cleared his throat and spoke again.
“Exactly. They are choosing not to involve themselves,” Garrick said.
Jason’s jaw tightened.
Every word was a reminder of how far Silver Hollow had fallen.
Garrick continued.
“The reality is that we do not have many options left.”
He looked directly at Jason.
“And whether we want to accept it or not, Alpha Alexander is the strongest alliance Silver Hollow still has.”
The room became silent.
Jason’s eyes narrowed.
Another elder spoke. “How do we know Blood Crescent would want to associate with us now? Even if that is an option, I suggest we still look for an alternative just to be on the safe side.”
Vincent did not back down.
“Nonsense,” Vincent said. “Faye is the Luna of Blood Crescent. That is the reason why that very alliance is our strongest.”

The mention of her name changed something in Jason’s expression.
Claim
“She may have left Silver Hollow, but she was born here. She is still our daughter. She is still connected to this pack.”
He folded his hands together.
“As long as that connection exists, Blood Crescent has a reason to protect Silver Hollow.”
Jason looked away.
He hated that the argument made sense.
He hated that Vincent was using the one connection he had spent years trying to ignore.
Faye.
Everything always came back to Faye.
The woman who had once been promised to him. The woman who should have been his
Luna.
The woman who now stood beside Alexander.
The thought alone left a bitter taste in his mouth.
Garrick spoke next.
“You do not have to like the situation.”
His voice softened slightly.
“But an alpha’s responsibility is not to protect his pride.”
A pause.
“It is to protect his people.”
The words struck harder than Jason wanted them to.
Because deep down, he knew they were right.
He knew Silver Hollow was vulnerable. He knew Conrad was not someone they could simply dismiss. He knew their enemies were watching.
But admitting they needed Blood Crescent felt impossible.
It felt like admitting defeat. It meant going to the man who had always proved he was above

Jason at the slightest chance.
Claim
Though there was no actual rivalry between both packs, the unspoken tension could not be ignored.
Alpha Alexander never hesitated to show off.
The position, the respect, the loyalty of powerful packs.
And most painfully…
Faye.
Jason had spent months convincing himself that losing her did not matter.
That he could move on easily. That Silver Hollow could move forward without her.
That the alliance with Alexander Blackwell was not one he would ever need to turn to.
“My father, Alpha Damian Wells, was the one who forged that alliance with Blood Crescent. Maybe he had his reasons, and I might not be able to terminate it easily since Alpha
Alexander is mated to one of our own,” Jason said. “But it doesn’t mean we run to Blood
Crescent at the slightest discomfort.”
No one said anything at this point. Some of the elders shook their heads. It was obvious they had realised that the situation was hopeless and that trying to reason with Jason was even
