Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 127

After getting a summary of the situation, the police took Iris and Vincent into custody.

As the victim, Summer also went to the station.

She handed over all the video evidence to the police. She wanted Iris to rot in prison and trusted that the law would deliver justice.

What she didn't expect was for Vincent to put on a deeply emotional performance right there in the police station after giving their statements.

Vincent dropped to his knees before Summer, his face a mask of profound, pained remorse. His voice was hoarse.

"Summer, I'm sorry. I hurt you. I deserve to die. But if I die, what will happen to you? Please, forgive me. Let me take care of you to atone for what I've done. I'll support your dreams, I'll never interfere again. Honey, I mean it, I know I was wrong. I'm your husband! We can't be apart."

Summer actually laughed, a bitter, humorless sound. Her face was drained of color, her chronically ill body running on fumes.

Seeing this man, for whom she had once given everything, now kneeling before her with tears streaming down his face, she felt only a bleak, cutting irony.

"Vincent, do you really take me for a fool? Sign the divorce papers now, or I'll press charges for attempted murder, and you'll never see the outside of a prison again."

With that, she threw a newly printed copy of the divorce agreement at him.

In an instant, a chill filled the air. Faced with her cold, merciless gaze, Vincent felt like the Summer before him was a terrifying stranger.

They had been so in love. She had given up everything for him. And now, because of one misunderstanding, she was being this cruel?

He couldn't accept it.

"No, I won't sign. I don't want to divorce you! How can you be so heartless? I told you I was wrong, so why are you trying to destroy me completely? I said I didn't know what Iris was doing! I was tricked! Don't you understand? The unknowing are not guilty!"

Vincent desperately tried to defend himself, certain that Summer would forgive him.

His bizarre logic made Summer laugh again.
